Chapter 253
Winston’s eyes lingered on Millie’s name, his gaze betraying complex emotions.
When he lifted his head to look at her, it seemed like a barrier had risen between them. Right then, no matter how Winston studied Millie, he couldn’t seem to understand her.
Winston then took out a pen from his pocket. As he pressed on the divorce application, the air around him grew stifling, threatening to engulf him.
He was clearly the one who wanted a divorce the most. But when the day finally arrived, he felt the least
satisfied.
Winston gripped the pen tightly with a frown. After that, he lowered his head and asked, “Millie, have you made up your mind?”
It was as if he was giving Millie a chance, yet also an out.
Winston was waiting for her to express her dissatisfaction and insist that she could make him fall in love with her. But the response he wanted never came.
Millie hummed in agreement and stated firmly, “I’ve decided.”
Winston gulped, and suddenly, an inexplicable surge of fury rose within him. He couldn’t quite understand why, either.
In the next instant, he signed his name with forceful strokes. Once he was done, he clicked the pen shut
“Alright, come back in a month. If neither of you shows up, the divorce application will be dismissed automatically,” the clerk reminded them.
“Okay, thank you.” Millie nodded obediently and picked up her documents.
Just as she was about to leave, a thought crossed her mind, and she asked Winston, “Do you want to grab a meal to celebrate the divorce?”
Winston was momentarily speechless, then he answered, “I don’t have time to eat with you. I’m busy.”
With that, he walked away.
Millie clicked her tongue and slowly caught up with him. After putting on her sunglasses, she crossed her arms and uttered, “Surely you have time for a meal even when you’re busy?”
Winston’s gaze fell on her. At that moment, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a radiant glow on her.
“Shall we go to that Cranurian restaurant near the university entrance?‘ Millie suggested while walking backward.
Winston frowned. Cranurian restaurant?
As they stepped out of the elevator, Millie added, “You said you’d treat me to a meal on the day you graduated. But then Joanna called you away before we arrived at the restaurant
Millie couldn’t help but sigh when she thought back to that moment. She realized her regrets had started piling up from that point. Despite that, she stubbornly persisted.

After putting away her ID card and other documents, she stopped beside her car and asked, “Are you coming or not?”
Winston checked the time. He did have a meeting coming up.
Noticing his dilemma, Millie said helplessly, “Forget it. I won’t make it harder for you.”
She opened her arms wide in the sunshine, walked to her car, and grumbled, “Oh well, Mr. Greer is always so busy.”
Winston observed her disappointed demeanor and sneered, “Enough with the sarcasm.”
Millie had just opened the car door when he closed it again.
“I’ll drive,” he said.
Η
Millie arched an eyebrow as Winston walked over to his car. Then, he opened the passenger seat and looked at her. “Get in.”
Suddenly, she chuckled. “Now that’s what I call a good ex–husband.”
Having said that, she got into the car, leaving Winston at a loss for words.
At Yerwick University, the car stopped in front of a Cranurian restaurant.
Millie stepped out of the vehicle and suddenly asked, “Can you handle spicy food?”
Winston frowned slightly. Then, Millie seemed to remember something as she commented, “You have a sensitive stomach. I should order some dishes from the kids‘ menu for you.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Winston followed Millie inside.
The restaurant owner immediately greeted them, “Welcome to the Cranurian restaurant. How many of you?”
Millie gestured “two” and asked, “Do you have private rooms upstairs?”
“Yes, we do. Upstairs for two,” the boss instructed into the intercom.
As they ascended the stairs, Millie continued, “Something children can handle. Like meat pie or mud pie.
After saying that, she chuckled to herself, while Winston silently followed her every step of the way.
Millie found a seat and settled in like she had done it many times before.
Winston sat across from her, asking. “Have you been here before?”
