Chapter 221
Winston turned on the flashlight on his phone and saw Millie snuggling in his arms.
“Millie?” he called to her, but she didn’t respond.
His back pressed against the seat as the couch was too cramped for them. When Millie shifted, he immediately reached out and pulled her closer for fear that she might fall off.
Was she sleepwalking?

The air of the morning after was fresh and crisp after the stormy night. The nurse entered the room to run a blood test and found the couple asleep on the couch.
She stole another glance at them and tiptoed out to check on other patients, not wanting to disturb them. When the door clicked shut, Millie frowned and slowly opened her eyes. Winston’s handsome face loomed in front of her, causing her to jump in shock and nearly roll off the couch.
Suddenly, he tightened his grip on her waist and pulled her into his arms. His eyes fluttered open.
“What time is it now?” His voice was thick with grogginess.
Millie was taken aback when she found herself on the couch. How did she get there?
A desire arose within Winston when he stared at her lovely face, but soon, he collected himself. He teased her, “Millie, do you always sleepwalk?”
Sleepwalk? She was surprised by the question, as she never sleepwalked.
“You snuggled in my arms at midnight. Did you do it on purpose if you weren’t sleepwalking?” He narrowed his eyes inquisitively.
She moved her lips but struggled to answer him. “I…” Lowering her gaze, she admitted, “I’m scared of thunder, so I always ran to my mom’s room when I was a kid.”
Nodding at her, he let out a knowing grunt. “Are you admitting to fearing thunder?”
“Well, having flaws makes us human. There’s nothing embarrassing about it.” Millie glanced at him before getting up. When she wriggled around, she noticed his hand on her waist. “Let go of me.”
Winston frowned. He wanted to let go, but his arm was numb from a night of holding her down to prevent her from tossing around and rolling off. As a result, he couldn’t move his arm right now.
Noting his situation, Millie silently removed his hand and sat up. She coughed awkwardly and stared at his stiff arm. “Wait for me.”
She produced a needle from her pocket and inserted it into an acupuncture point on his finger. “It’ll only take a minute.”
He examined Millie’s serious face. He seemed to have discovered a new side of her. “Are you skilled in medicine?”
He was surprised when she casually produced a needle from her pocket. What talent did she harbor?

“Acupuncture? I know a bit about it,” she drawled.
“I always thought you were…” His voice trailed off.
Millie smiled as she made her way to the bathroom. “Do you believe the rumors that claimed I was untalented?”
He admitted to it in silence. Indeed, everyone claimed that Millie was the one and only failure in the Caldwell family, which had historically excelled in medicine.
However, Millie changed his view after she saved Patrick at the dinner party. Moreover, after receiving her acupuncture treatment, his arm gradually regained its sense of touch.
He thought, “Wow, I can’t believe that she knows acupuncture too!”
Millie emerged from the bathroom after washing up. She looked innocent with her bare face.
She opened the windows to allow fresh air into the room. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath.
“When I went to get my ID card issued, the staff told me that the express service would take three days. Yesterday was the first day, and today was the second. If everything goes smoothly, I’ll get my ID card by tomorrow,” she explained, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall while Winston wore his tie.
