Chapter 212
Winston asked, “Did you find it?”

Millie turned to face him. “Mr. Greer, do you trust me?
Winston was taken aback by her sudden question.
Millile raised her hand. “I assure you, I had no intention of avoiding our divorce. But I seem to have misplaced my ID card. I swear, it’s truly nowhere to be found.”
Winston gazed into Millie’s apologetic eyes, and a wave of indescribable emotions surged through him.
“Give me just two days, and I’ll get a replacement. We can proceed with the divorce once that’s taken care of,” Millie pleaded.
Winston stared at her silently for a moment before replying, “Alright.”
Millie feltan instant wave of relief. “Thank you.
“Should I take you to work?” he asked.
“I can drive,” Millie declined. Then she got out of the car.
Winston watched Millie’s slender back and suddenly called out, “Millie!”
“Yes?” she replied in a clear, pleasant voice.
Winston felt uneasy for some reason. She seemed more relaxed after their discussion yesterday. He held the steering wheel with one hand and clenched his other hand in his pocket.
Millie tilted her head. “Is there anything, Mr. Greer?”
Winston shook his head dismissively. “Nothing much. Just inform me once you’ve replaced your ID.”
“Sure,” Millie agreed.
After she left, Winston pulled out her ID card from his pocket. He looked at her beautiful, delicate face on the card, and an uneasy feeling began to consume him
As Millie’s car left the yard, Winston looked up at it and whispered, “Millie_”
Millie went to replace her lost ID card. On her way to the hospital, she kept thinking about where she might have lost it.
When she arrived at the hospital, she saw the prison guards and police officers from that day. They were escorting the prisoner, who was very sick before, into a car.
It seemed like he had been saved. However, he was taken away again after only two days of treatment in the hospital. Millie shrugged and went upstairs.
“Dr. Lowell is incredibly fragile!”
“She’s truly weak. She was just discharged from the hospital, and now she’s back again.”
“Shut up! Dr. Lowell is not what you say she is!” defended Wanda.

Vanessa clicked her tongue disapprovingly. “Your owner is in the hospital again. Go take care of her.”
Millle opened the office door to find Vanessa in a heated argument with Wanda. She ignored them and sat at her desk.
Vanessa approached her and asked, “Dr. Caldwell, why did the Greers come to see you yesterday?”
“We were discussing divorce,” Millie responded honestly.
Vanessa was shocked. “What do you mean? Are you seriously planning to divorce Mr. Greer?”
“Of course.” Millie nodded.
“Is it because of Mr. Harrison?” Vanessa asked, curiosity brimming in her voice.
Lainey entered the office with a subtle cough, gesturing to Vanessa that they were at work.
Millie believed there was nothing to be ashamed of and discussed it openly, “It’s not because of Mr. Harrison. It’s because my marriage with Winston has come to an end.”
“What a shame,” Vanessa said sympathetically.
Millie chuckled. “Don’t feel sorry for me. It’s just a divorce. The next man will be better, more attractive, and wealthier.”
“Is there anyone in the world more influential than Mr. Greer?” Vanessa asked with a smile.
Millie picked up the medical record from the side and nodded. “Yes. Me.”
She was known as “M” from the M base and unquestionably held more influence than anyone else.
Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a call from Rachel.
“How is it going? Have you
finalized your divorce?” she asked.
