Chapter 114
Millie quickly left after saying that. The door of the lounge slammed shut, and her hands clenched into

fists.
She leaned against the door, feeling her heart race. It felt like something was gripping her, causing pain and making it hard to breathe.
⚫She tried to convince herself that she had grown indifferent to Winston, that she no longer loved him.
But deep down, she knew it was all a lie.
When he brought up divorce again, her heart faltered. Eventually, they still ended up getting divorced.
Millie continued to pant, trying to compose herself. Unbeknownst to her, a tear slid down from the comer of her eye.
Millie wanted to immerse herself in work right away. She aimed to occupy her time so that she could avoid feeling overwhelming sadness.
In the lounge, Winston tightly gripped the divorce agreement. He slowly lifted his hand and delicately massaged his forehead, taking a deep breath. Despite his decision to divorce Millie, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease rather than relief.
Shortly after, the door of the lounge was pushed open.
“Win!” Joanna entered.
“Hmm. How’s work?” Winston smiled.
Joanna sat next to Winston, looking dejected. “It’s fine. But my back has been hurting recently.”
“Is it the wound?” Winston asked.
She nodded, pouted, and said, “Perhaps it’s because I spend too much time in the air–conditioned
rooms.”
He couldn’t help but think of what the man said, “Mr. Greer, Ms. Lowell is brave and smart. She nearly died at sea trying to save you. It’s truly admirable that an ordinary girl can do such a brave thing for you.”
When he thought about it, he felt very sorry for Joanna. He gently massaged Joanna’s shoulders, his gaze overflowing with tender care. “I’ll find a better nutritionist to help you improve your well–being.”
Joanna noticed that Winston was unusually kind to her. She bumped into Millie when she arrived, and Millie looked slightly pale.
She had been rather anxious, wondering if Winston was aware of anything. However, he seemed to know nothing about it.
“Why were you looking for Millie?” Joanna was curious.
Winston didn’t want Joan procedures later at one.”

Joanna was surprised to learn that they were going to divorce. She said coquettishly, “Win, I’m eager to hear the good news from you.”
He nodded, then checked the time and said, “Hmm. I have a meeting later. I’ll leave first.”
Joanna walked Winston out, and Millie accidentally bumped into them as she was coming out of the
ward.
Joanna smiled with joy, and Millie immediately knew that Winston must have informed her about the divorce. Joanna was finally going to marry Winston as she had always wished. How could she not be happy?
Winston gazed deeply at Millie before leaving without looking back. After he departed, the smile faded from Joanna’s face.
She walked up to Millie, snorted disdainfully, and walked away triumphantly. Soon, Millie would be the ex–wife, and Joanna would be Winston’s wife.
At 1:00 pm, Millie arrived at the courthouse on time. When she got out of the car, Winston also got out. They looked at each other in silence at the courthouse entrance.
Millie walked behind Winston, holding her ID card and necessary documents. It was different from when they obtained their marriage certificate that year, with her walking in front and Winston walking behind.
He glanced back at her, noticing no hesitation in her eyes. It seemed she had already anticipated this ‘day.
In front of the divorce counter, he put down the required documents.
The official couldn’t help but be taken aback at the sight of the people standing before him. They were none other than Winston and Millie. Ultimately, this unwanted marriage had reached this point.
“Good afternoon. We’re applying for divorce,” Winston’s voice was extremely charming; even the word ” divorce” sounded pleasant.
