Chapter 562Bonnie raised her brow and looked at Sienna with approval.
‘Now that’s what a McLeod is supposed to look like! It proves I was right in thinking she’s not
beyond help. At least she’s faithful regarding the nation.’
“All right, then. You’ll protect me while we’re here.”
Sienna almost cried tears of joy when she heard Bonnie’s response. “D-Does that mean I’ve earned
your respect?”
‘Perfect, I won the bet against Bonnie!’
Bonnie noticed Sienna trying to suppress her triumphant laughter and guessed the latter’s thoughts.
Bonnie remarked, “I understand you’ve done many heinous things in the past. Worse, you even
mobilized the army to attack a civilian a while ago.”
Sienna panicked. “Th-there’s a reason for that. You see—”
“It doesn’t matter. You must own up to your mistakes, regardless,” Bonnie said sternly.
novelbinSienna balled her fists and sighed. “You’re right. I have a reason, but Grandpa already lectured me
about it. I admit I went overboard.”
Bonnie nodded in satisfaction. “What matters is you learn from your mistakes. That’s the most we
can ask from anyone. I hope you change and improve so you never repeat your mistakes.”
“I’ll do as you say, Ms. Bonita!” Sienna decided never to do anything to shame Bonita or her family.
Bonnie responded, “Good, you’ll earn my respect when you do that.”“I appreciate the opportunity, Ms. Bonita!” Sienna looked at Bonnie gratefully, overjoyed by the turn
of events.
“Poor Bonnie. It looks like you lost the bet this time.’

The International Scientific Research Conference commenced in the afternoon. Soon after, Bonnie
found herself surrounded by prestigious scientific researchers. All of them were asking for
clarifications on several matters.
Ivor stood beside her like a knight protecting a princess. Not long after, a lady in a green gown
approached him timidly. “Excuse me, can I chat with you over there, mister?”
Bonnie heard the woman’s voice and instinctively turned to Ivor. Immediately after, Bonnie noticed
Ivor turning to look back at her, and she quickly whipped back around.
Ivor noticed it and grinned. Then, he looked at the woman in the green dress and said, “I’m sorry,
but I’m busy right now. Maybe you should chat with someone else.”
The lady bit her lip gloomily. “Um, I just wanted to chat with you a little. I won’t—”
He withdrew his gaze and ignored the woman. He turned and faced Bonnie, asking, “Do you know
why I rejected her?”
