Chapter 81
Victoria was the star of the show, taking the stage last. The drums kicked in, load and booming, as a spotlight pierced the darkness, spotlighting her all alone. She started dancing, moving to the beat. The strings chimed in.
The performance was a mix of traditional outfits and music that went from peaceful to pumped, all matched with the dancers expressive moves. Half an hour of this was like a crash course in cultural history. It was super touching, and the clapping went on for ages.
Bonnie was getting even more nervous. “Lenore, the evaluation is this afternoon, and 1”
Lenore tilted Bonnie’s chin and smiled. Just treat it as if you’re playing. There’s no need for any pressure After all, she was there as
Actually, Victoria hadn’t decided when to take on a student. Somehow, rumors spread that after her performance in Senanville, she might retire and wanted to find someone to carry on her legacy. Aspiring students flocked to her.
Victoria thought it over and decided to hold the selection here. It wasn’t a traditional arts exam; it simply required the dancers to showcase their skills in front of her. Everyone who attended gave it their best.
By a PM, the area in front of the theater was empty, but the backstage was crowded with people. There were a total of twenty–three participants of different ages, including three boys. They drew lots for their order, and Esther got number 7.
To earn extra points for the performance, many participants brought their own costumes to match their dance styles. Ella handed a suitable outfit to Esther and advised her, “You’ve seen Victoria’s dance. I’ve added some clements to your performance. Don’t be nervous, just do your best.”
Esther took the outfit and smiled. Thank you, Ella”
Ella raised an eyebrow and said, “In the future, besides being cousins, we’ll also be dance sisters. No need to be so formal,”
Esther grinned playfully. “Dance sister?”
“You haven’t been accepted yet, but you’re always trying your luck.” Ella said with a flick to Esther’s forehead and a laugh. “Go get changed.”
Esther nodded, but as she turned away, her smile disappeared, leaving behind a somber expression. At the entrance of the changing room, she bumped into Bonnie.
Esther scoffed to herself she hadn’t heard anything about Bonnie dancing at Greenvine High School for over two years, let alone taking on a difficult folk dance
Bonnie was holding the number 23 we switch places?”
3 tag; she was the last one on the list. Esther’s eyes flickered as she softly said, “Bonnie, I’m not feeling well Could
Bonnie knitted her brows, becoming cautious. “V

to do?
Esther glanced around casually, several people were nearby. She wobbled slightly, rubbing her forehead, her face pale as though she could faint at any moment. “I really don’t feel well”
“It’s just a spot. If she’s not feeling well, just let her switch, said a girl who had already changed her clothes as she walked over.
Others quickly agreed, “Exactly, its just a spot, Let her rest for a while.”
Esther’s cousin was Victoria’s apprentice, and this was no secret hackstage. Bonnie watched them flatter Esther with a cold look, and then walked over with a blank expression, switched our the order cards, and entered the changing room with a box of clothes.
Esther looked at the number 23 card in her hand, her lips curling with smugness. She knew she’d be the one to steal the spotlight
“Is Bonnie here? Someone’s looking for your a shout came from outside just then. It could only be Lenore searching for her. Bonnie, who had only half–changed out of her clothes, came out of the changing room and jogged outside.
Her outfit was deep blue, somewhat like a traditional robe but not quite, with patterns embroidered in various silver threads, making her skin look incredibly perfect and the outfit exquisitely beautiful. “Wow, she’s stunning! Is that a cultural style?” Several girls looked on with envy.
Esther looked at her own outfit, a flash of malice in her eyes
Bonnie soon returned to the changing room to swap out her skirt. But when she opened the box and reached inside, she grabbed some fabric strips. She froze, trembling as she held the box and walked out, shouting, “Who just touched my clothes?”

The bustling backstage fell silent instantly, with everyone looking at her puzzled.
“What clothes?”
“Who messed with your clothes?”
Bonnie’s gaze was cold as she tossed the clothes in her hand to the floor and sternly asked, “Who did this?”
