Chapter 80: Buying Her Luxury Goods to Ask for Forgiveness
When she was able to move her other hand freely, she pressed her chest hard.
But the feeling of her blood rushing still didn’t calm down.
The blood pressure monitor next to her kept beeping.
Her pale face had turned a warm red.
“Can it be any different? I’m your mother! I raised you, and you are talking to me like that?!”
Marcus, seeing the monitor’s alarm, started to panic. He quickly called for the doctor.
The doctor rushed in, checked her, and gave her some medication to lower her blood pressure.
Marcus retreated to the corner of the room, biting his lip, frowning as he watched the nurse give Margaret her medicine.
A sense of guilt quietly stirred in his heart.
“Mom, how are you?”
After the doctor left, Marcus went over to rub Margaret’s back gently.
His movements were a little stiff, clearly his first time doing this.
Margaret rested against the pillow.
Though she still felt frustrated, he was, after all, her own son
She softened a bit.
Her anger had calmed down.
“Gemma held back such a big move. She wouldn’t let go until she saw some benefit”
She wanted to deal with Gemma directly.
But Mr. Cassius blocked her.
So, that plan wouldn’t work.
When force doesn’t work, then she’ll
she’ll have to use gentleness
“Back when Ali was here, Gemma knelt at the front door for three hours just to see the child”
“This time, we give her a little something nire. Let her take care of Ali for a month.”
Marcus‘ expression darkened again.
When she saw Ali before, Gemuna didn’t seem as happy as he expected.
Especially at the kindergarten costume party.
She actually had the heart to let Ali call Mabel ‘mom.
Even though she was pressured by Mr. Cassius at the time, she never apologized to All afterward!
This plan might not work.
Margaret was still carefully analyzing
“Besides Ali, you probably need to sacrifice a little and spend more time with her. Didn’t she like a few pieces of jewelry? Go buy them for her.”
“Make sure she believes you truly regret your actions and are genuinely trying to turn things around. Let her see hope and forgive you, and maybe even go online to clear things up.”
These words struck something in Marcus.
He turned to glance at Margaret’s hand
It was probably about a year ago.
He had, for the first time, taken Gemma shopping at the mall.
Gemma had spotted a blue diamond bracelet at the counter, but because it was a limited edition, he hadn’t bought it for

her.
Then Mabel had called, saying she was being bullied, so he just left Gemma at the mall and rushed off.
Later.
He pressed his fingers to his forehead.
He didn’t pay attention to how Gemma got home afterward. He just knew that no one ever mentioned it again, and Gemma didn’t seem to care that much either.
But now..
Gemma had deliberately hurt Margaret’s hand–wasn’t that a hint?
Sure enough, women love shiny things.
What’s more, Margaret’s plan aligned perfectly with what the company executives had in mind.
Gemma was definitely needed to save the day this time.
And Marcus had a bit of selfishness in it
He wanted his marriage to return to the way it was before.
Even though Gemma had caused a mess at the company and was speaking nonsense online, he was willing to forgive her. His marriage had been struggling, which made everything else go wrong
He thought to himself.
If everything could just go back to how it was, everything would be smooth again.
“Okay, I got it. You rest well. I’ll handle the company stuff myself”
Margaret snorted.
“Once this is over, just wait until I deal with that bitch”
Marcus was about to stop her.
But then reconsidered.
Gemma had been getting more and more outrageous lately. If she wasn’t taught a lesson now, who knew what kind of trouble she’d cause in the future.
“Do as you wish.”
He gave a few instructions to the nurse and hurried out of the hospital.
Once in the car, he rubbed his forehead, thought for a moment, and then called his secretary.
“Get a custom blue diamond bracelet, he paused, then added, “and a blue diamond ring.”
With enough sincerity, Gemma would definitely appreciate it.
Gemma was forced to take her medication and rest at the estate.
She stared at Noah, her eyes wide.
After all, they had played every game possible.
Both of them were drained, sprawled out on the bed.
“Noah, can I ask you something?”
Noah leaned in, looking sneaky, but in a cute way.
“Mm
Gemma’s eyes lit up. She sat up suddenly.
“Does your Uncle Cassius have anything he likes?”
She hated owing people favors.
But Cassius had helped her again and again

She really didn’t know how to repay him.
Since she had no idea what Cassius liked, she had to cheat a little by asking Noah
Noah lay on the bed, his chubby little hands propping up his chin,
His eyes, dark and shiny like black pearls, sparkled.
Then, as if an idea had struck him, he jumped up.
“Tap tap tap,” he ran out of the room.
Gemma was confused.
Not long after, the little guy returned.
He was holding a small heart–shaped notebook.
When he flipped it open it was filled with his drawings.
He pointed to one and said. “He needs this.”
Gemma glanced at the drawing, taken aback.
It showed two chibi characters.
The man was wearing a black suit, and the girl beside him was in a white wedding dress.
Both were smiling happily.
Gemma was confused, again.
“What’s thus?”
Noah looked serious
“It’s Auntie.”
Excuse me?
“It’s Auntie, Noah repeated, pointing to the picture, then to himself.
“And also a baby”
Gemma was speechless.
She shouldn’t have asked him!
Forget it, she decided to wait for the right time.
She tucked Noah in to sleep.
Her phone buzzed.
She glanced at it—it was Call
That girl had been away on business for days and had finally returned
“Why aren’t you at home?”
Cali’s voice sounded tired, with a hint of worry.
Gemma wasn’t sure how to explain.
She couldn’t exactly say she was living with Cassius now.
“Ahem, it’s a long story. I’ll explain it to you when I have the chance. But for now, I’m safe.”
Cali’s tone turned anxious.
“Are you really safe? There’s been a lot of noise online. Did Marcus retaliate against you?”
Gemma laughed softly.
“My former mother–in–law carne to make a scene, but… her plan failed, and now she’s probably at the hospital, unable to
sleep.”
“Then, what about you? Did you get hurt? That old witch is far worse than Marcus. At least Marcus is straightforward, but your mother–in–law always plays dirty.”
Her tone softened with a smile.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Cali sighed in relief.
“Good to hear.”
“By the way, I forgot to tell you, Ali came to your rental.”
