Chapter 105: Mr. Cassius, I’m Giving My Best Friend to You
Gemma raised an eyebrow. She figured it had to be about Keagan.
“Is it about Keagan and Yvonne?”
Cassius nodded.
Then, just tell us now. My friend really wants to know what’s going on with them.”
Earlier, she’d told Keagan and Yvonne to leave, as they had bodyguards with them.
They’re not sure if Cassius would step in.
You know what they say–don’t risk causing trouble.
She held onto Cali, waiting for the right moment.
But surprisingly.
Cassius–who was always too busy–had already taken care of it.
That’s when Cali caught on.
“Are you talking about the driver?”
Gemma nodded. “Yeah, that guy’s Mr. Cassius’s cousin.”
Cali nearly fell over.
She’d heard that messing with powerful people was a bad idea, but this was a whole new level.
One wrong move, and you could be done.
“Mr. Cassius, don’t worry. I’m fine. I won’t pursue it any further.”
She thought Cassius wanted her to sign a Disclaimer.
Since he’d help get back her designs, she could do that.
But then….
Cassius shook his head.
“This has been handed over to the traffic police. They have all the videos and witness statements.”
“Your injuries are already documented at the hospital, and we’ve assigned a lawyer to file for civil compensation.”
Cali’s jaw hit the floor.
She blinked twice.
Still unbelievable.
“Wait, did I hear that right?”
“Mr. Cassius, you’re really doing all that for me?”
Cassius didn’t even flinch. He acted like it was no big deal.
“Breaking the law should have consequences. It’s not about helping you or him.”
Cali gave another deep bow. “Mr. Cassius, you’re officially my hero!”
Without even thinking, she shoved Gemma toward him.
Tm fine now. I’ll grab a cab home. You go see Candy, or whatever chocolate, cupcake.”
Gemma blinked. “Huh?”
‘I’m like a superwoman now–impossible to kill. You two go on without me. I’ll be fine!”
Before Gemma could say anything, Cali jumped into a cab and slammed the door shut.
‘Gemma, seriously, don’t worry! I’m good!”
The cab sped off, leaving Gemma standing there, utterly confused.
What just happened?
Noah clapped his hands, excited. “Gemma, can we go give Candy a bath now?”
Gemma sighed. “Sure, but I have to stop by the hospital first. Still got work later.”
Yes, someone here still got work to do.
At the hospital.
Mabel helped Margaret back to her room.
As soon as they entered, Margaret angrily threw a vase to the floor.
“That slut!”
She kept patting her chest, trying to calm down.

But her anger was still bubbling.
“Margaret, don’t get upset. She’s always been like this. Don’t stress over someone like her.”
Margaret sat on the bed, slamming her fist down on the mattress.
“Ever since she showed up, she’s done nothing but drive me crazy.”
“I’m glad I didn’t let Max take her out to those parties. Otherwise, the Wilsons‘ reputation would’ve been ruined.”
Mabel hesitated before speaking.
“Margaret, I heard she and Max are officially done. The divorce decree’s already been issued.”
“Really?”
Margaret had heard some rumors, but Marcus hadn’t said anything, so she wasn’t sure.
She’d always thought Gemma was smart and patient–someone who always had a trick up her sleeve.
She never expected it to end this suddenly.
“Now that they’re divorced, the online gossip has calmed down. It’s probably for the best. Max is finally free.”
Mabel smiled faintly. “Yeah, Max told me he’s actually relieved about the divorce. Don’t worry, Auntie. Gemma won’t be causing trouble at the Wilsons anymore.”
Margaret froze, then looked up at her.
“You and Max are together?”
Mabel lowered her gaze. “Max likes it when at my place. He said he felt relaxed with me around him. I didn’t expect him to keep coming around.”
Margaret, sharp as always, immediately realized what was going on.
Her anger melted away, replaced by a cold unease.
She’d just gotten rid of Gemma, but now Mabel was in the picture?
Why couldn’t her son just choose a decent, high–society woman?
