Chapter 2
Natalie came back to her senses and looked at the car behind Josh. “You hit me,” she said, meaning he should help her since he caused the accident.
Josh smiled again and extended his hand towards her.
Natalie hesitated for a while and took his hand. She thought that he was going to help her up. But to her surprise, Josh scooped her up and carried her in his arms.
Leaning against his chest, Natalie could see his chiseled jawline, and she noticed the slight scent of his cologne. Natalie started to panic
Both Martin and Owen were shocked, thinking, ‘No way! Mr. President is carrying a woman in his armst
As Natalie struggled in his arms, Josh secured her leg extra tight, causing her pain. So, she stopped struggling
Josh carried her to the car. Martin had got out of the car and opened the door of the back seat so that Josh could put her in gently.
Just then, a group of people walked out from the back door of the castle. Hank Johnson was surrounded by them as they were talking about Natalie’s chaotic wedding.
“What is wrong with the Linney family? No one came to the wedding except for the bride Absolutely no respect for Natalie. We shouldn’t have bothered showing up!”
“Natalie must be embarrassed! She should live in the countryside all her life rather than come back to be publicly humiliated!”
“Exactly. Mr. Johnson shouldn’t have wasted his time on such a bumpkin!
Just as Hank was about to say something he saw a distinguished–looking many carrying a woman in a wedding dress into the car. He thought. The wedding dress? Is she Natalie? And the man… Isn’t he the new…
All of a sudden, Hank’s eyes widened and his legs gave our
“What’s wrong. Mr. Johnson!”
“Are you okay?”
Hank didn’t wake up from his daze until Josh’s car left. He looked at the people behind him with a stern face and snapped, “Keep your mouth shutt No one is allowed to gossip about Ms. Natalie Linney.”
Everyone was frightened to silence.
Once she was inside the Lincoln, Natalie started feeling unease
Josh sat beside her, and he had kept his eyes closed since he told Owen to go to the hospital. But even with his eyes shut, Josh still radiated an overpowering aura that stifled the air.
This was the first time that Natalie had seen such a person who had an intimidating vibe that stunned others
Suddenly, Josh opened his eyes and looked sideways at her leg. Her leg was bruised and bleeding. Blood dripped down her ankle onto the carpet in the car. “How far is the hospital?” he asked.
“About half an hour away,” Martin, who sat on the passenger seat, replied
Josh frowned. He looked out of the window and said, “Stop at the pharmacy up ahead”
Owen did as instructed.
Martin went to buy some medicine. After he came back with a bag, he gave it to Josh.
Josh took out the cotton swabs and iodine from the bag. Then he lifted Natalie’s dress and held her ankle.
Natalie’s heart skipped a beat. “Thanks, but I can do it myself”
However, he held her ankle more tightly and said in a domineering tone, “Don’t move
Natalie froze. She could only watch as Josh took off her shoes slowly. The blood came down to her ankle and
ankle and even st
stained his wrist.
However, he didn’t seem to care about it at all. When he touched her soft file foot, Natalie felt both embarrassed and a little annoyed.
