219–Leaving The Mansion
Nora:

While I was busy thinking about Lord Atwood wanting me gone, he was observing me.
“Mia’s body will be brought here, as I promised Galinda that we would give her a funeral as if she were my own daughter. We will begin preparing for it. The council meetings will be frequent here for other discussions. I don’t think you’ll be comfortable in all that crowd,” he spoke softly, attempting to sound like a caring stepfather, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that he thought I might cause trouble again.
“Am I not going to attend the funeral?” I felt like asking, as if he was plucking me from his garden and casting me away.
“Of course you will come, this is your home. You can come back whenever you want,” Lord Atwood said..
I took a deep breath and nodded since I couldn’t force my stay here now that he was directly asking me to leave for some days.
“I will go pack my bags then,” I said. I noticed Lord Atwood lowering
sighing.

his heartil
“Really? So she’s going to run away at the first sign of trouble?” I heard Ryker grunt.
“I think Ryker is right. She should stay here for now,” Silas pitched in.
“Dad! Isn’t it odd that she’s leaving when so much is happening here? Everyone will question her loyalty to us.” Nash agreed with his

brothers.
“They are right. Why are we sending her off to some alpha’s apartment when this is her home?” It came as a surprise when even Cain joined his brothers.
So it was clear that the brothers didn’t want me to go. But why was Lord Atwood changing so much?
I steadily strolled back to my room and packed my two bags. Brody had come upstairs to help me with my luggage.
“I hope I am not forcing you to come with me,” Brody smiled sweetly, watching my face with so much love that, for a moment, I felt special.
“No, you are not. I would love to get out of here for a few days,” I mumbled under my breath, fixing my hair to leave with him.
“Nora, you will feel at home in that apartment. I promise you that. And whenever you want to come back here, all you have to do is command me,” I couldn’t help but stare back into his eyes. He was so nice and kind.
Why didn’t the Moon Goddess give me him as a mate then? I mean, if I can have three stepbrothers as mates, does that mean I will have many more?
I looked down to compose myself before I raised my head and gave him a smile, “I know you will. That is why I am so happy I got you for a friend.”
Of course, we were just friends. He had been nice enough to take care of me all this time.
“Then let’s go. We should not delay. I need to get us dinner too,” he had such a wide smile on his lips when talking about us having dinner

together in our new apartment. After giving him another nod, I tried to grab the bags, but he quickly stepped up and shook his head at me.
He grabbed both bags, and we walked downstairs where Lord Atwood was the only one present.
I noticed the others in the living room, talking aggressively and pointing at Brody. I understood they were talking about us. They seemed very on edge about the idea of me leaving to stay with Brody.
“I hope you will take good care of her,” Lord Atwood said to Brody before he turned to look my way.
“I would have loved to keep you here, but you know how things are going. I will be busy, unable to take care of you,” he placed his hand on my head. In response to his words, I only nodded.
I bet he noticed how upset I was that he had asked me to leave. Rolling in the car with Brody, I watched the mansion disappear.
Initially, I was so happy to have another place to stay. But it was just concerning that Lord Atwood asked me to leave. Maybe that’s what had been bothering me.
“You have been so silent. Is everything alright with you?” Brody asked. after I didn’t say a single word.
“I am just–missing home and Lord Atwood already,” I joked, adjusting. my posture in my seat.
“Hmm! May I ask you something?” I then turned to him, and he nodded his head.
“Are you still upset with me over that gown thing?” I noticed the veins. pop up in his temples, but he forced a smile and shook his head.
