Chapter 72
Jaden felt a complex mix of emotions for a moment. So many years had passed, and everything had changed.
“Don’t leave, as long as you’re here, I’ll do the surgery,” Liana pleaded.
Jaden hesitated for a long while before nodding his agreement. But when Liana came out of the surgery, he had already left, leaving only Hank behind.
Liana had requested local anesthesia, hoping to see Jaden when she woke up, but even with just Hank there, she wasn’t disappointed. At least Jaden was looking after her.
She noticed that the hospital room, medical staff, and medications were all of the highest standards. Despite her dizzy head, Liana persisted in checking her phone.
“What’s your name?” Liana asked.
“I’m Hank Donovon,” Hank replied.
Liana typed in the name and the latest news popped up. Hank Donovon, the executive assistant at the Denison Group, was Marcus White’s trusted aide.
Liana thought, ‘Marcus White?‘
She continued scrolling and saw a face scarred by burns. Initially, she was very scared, but as she looked closer, she began to notice many details.
Could it be that Jaden and Marcus were the same person? They were similar in height and build. If they weren’t the same person, why could Jaden get Hank to do things for him?
Liana gathered her courage and looked at Hank and asked, “When Mr. White left, did he say anything?”
“Mr. White?” Hank asked.
Liana asked, “That’s Jaden, the CEO of the Denison Group, right?”
“He didn’t say anything when he left,” Hank said. He could only admit it.
Liana knew what happened. This unexpected return had brought another surprise.
Now she was determined more than ever not to let go. Jaden was hers to win.
She believed that their many years of relationship would drive Ella away.
She fell asleep contentedly.
In the Willow family.
Ella was almost at the front door, but then she got a call from Hank saying Marcus wanted to invite her to a late–night snack.

She went over, but there was no trace of anyone at all.
She didn’t come back until after two o’clock in the morning, thinking Jaden would be asleep, but he was actually standing on the balcony.
Ella didn’t know what he was thinking, as he didn’t even notice her approach.
Ella thought, ‘He couldn’t be thinking about his former lover, could he?‘
“Could he be thinking about his old lover?” she jokingly asked.
Jaden snapped out of it, still looking confused and innocent.
“You’re back? Where did you go? Why are you back so late? I was really worried about you,” Jaden said.
“I’m tired. Let’s go to bed,” Ella said.
She was truly exhausted from staying up so late, especially since she hadn’t slept well the night before. She practically fell asleep as soon as she lay on the bed.
But Jaden stayed up all night, watching Ella with complicated emotions.
He struggled for a long time, then gently embraced her.

In that moment of holding her, he felt his messy mind finally settle.
The next day, Liana insisted on being discharged, her arm in a cast hanging around her neck.
Liana first went to the Denison Group, gazing from afar at the grandiose office building.
It was working hours now, and men and women in uniform were streaming in.
The large corporation didn’t settle in Ardbert City for long but had an incredibly strong momentum. It had suppressed several local major corporations.
It seemed Ella still didn’t know about all this. Jaden deliberately kept it from her, indicating Ella wasn’t that important.
Liana thought it made sense. They had no emotional attachment. Ella was deeply in love with Harry but ended up getting nothing. She then angrily found Jaden to humiliate Harry.
How could Jaden tell Ella he had such a huge fortune?
It looked like she was destined to be Jaden’s wife.
Liana didn’t rush to find Jaden or Ella. Instead, she set up a foundation and invested a million dollars into it.
She also began to revive her social media accounts from a few years ago, starting to share personal updates. Liana’s account was well managed. She used to be a beauty and fashion influencer, accumulating quite a few fans.
Now that she was back, her fans were still supporting her.
Liana said she hadn’t been back for several years, and Ardbert Gity had undergone earth–shaking changes.
Not only did she share daily outfits, but she also began to explore various gourmet restaurants. She was a beauty with a good figure and was rich, so she was popular.
Today, Liana went to a five–star restaurant.
Liana said, “I’m going live today, but I don’t want too much attention from the restaurant staff, so I didn’t bring any lighting. No team, just pure sharing. No need for tips. Thank
you all.
“First, put the phone in the potted plant to avoid being noticed while filming.”
Liana hid her phone, about to order, then saw a familiar figure.
“I met a good friend. I’m going to say hello,” Liana said.
“Ms. Willow!” Liana shouted.
Ella had invited Jenny to dinner here.
She hadn’t even sat down when she heard someone calling her.
Seeing it was Liana, Ella raised her eyebrows slightly.
“Want to join me? I’m dining alone,” Liana asked.
“No thanks, I’m with a friend,” Ella said.
“I see… Do you come to this restaurant often? Can you recommend a few dishes? Are they good?” Liana asked.
She pulled Ella to sit down and asked about several dishes.
Ella responded to her questions.
Liana said, “Can’t you reconsider what happened last time? I really love Jaden.”
Ella pretended not to hear and said, “Miss Reid, please enjoy your meal.”
Liana said, “Ella! Why did you marry Jaden? You should know in your heart that it was because Harry repeatedly rejected you, and you deliberately found Jaden to provoke him! Is that right?”
Ella said, “That’s right. That’s exactly how it started.”
Liana said, “If that’s the case, why won’t you let him go to me? Harry’s married now, there’s no chance for you two. Why do you still hold on to Jaden? I’ve waited for him for so many years. Can’t you leave him?”

Ella said, “Then can you give me all your family’s money? I’m in desperate need of funds for my investment projects. Please, give it all to me. Don’t hold back. You’re such a good person. Surely you won’t see me in dire straits and do nothing?”
This left Liana speechless.
With Liana’s tearful appearance, it seemed like Ella was bullying her.
Arms crossed, Ella looked dispassionately at her.
Gritting her teeth, Liana suddenly knelt to her.
Liana said, “Ms. Willow, please stop teasing me. You don’t love Jaden. Please let him go.”
Ella hadn’t expected Liana to kneel in front of everyone, disregarding her own dignity.
“What are you doing? Get up!” Ella said.
Liana humbly grabbed her clothes, breathless from crying.
Her pitiful look made others feel distressed.
Ella, naturally charming, looked like she had harmed Liana.
Liana said, “You can make me do anything. I’ve already found the best doctor. I came back this time to take him abroad for treatment. You don’t care about him at all. You only see him as a fool, but in my eyes, he’s important.”
Ella’s face darkened a bit. She thought Liana was being unreasonable.
Ella decided not to eat this meal here.
“If you want to kneel, go ahead,” Ella said. With that, she turned and left.
Liana cried in a daze for a long time, until the waiter pulled her up.
Only then did Liana come to her senses, wiping away her tears, and facing the camera, saying, “I’m sorry for interrupting everyone with my personal affairs. I forgot I was live broadcasting. I’m sorry…”
