Chapter 203
After shopping with Jenny, Ella left the mall with many bags..
A car pulled up across the road.
“Boss, what’s wrong?” the secretary asked respectfully.
“I saw an old friend,” the man spoke calmly. He suddenly thought of something. “Is Jaden coming here recently?”
“Yes, in a week.”
“Find a way to get him here sooner. Imagine how intriguing it would be if he showed up in front of Ella now,” he instructed his secretary. The latter part, murmured to himself, was, “It’s not fun for us to see how he looks now. Most importantly, make sure the right people find out.”
No one would expect that the once glamorous Jaden, who was once above everyone, had now become a reclusive figure who resembled a ghost. A sinister smile spread across Finn’s lips as he began to devise his plan.
Ella had planned to leave after a week, but a large order came in for the branch office, requiring her to stay longer.

Shortly after signing the contract, the boss of the client company celebrated his birthday and invited celebrities to the event. Ella was expected to attend and send a congratulatory gift. When she arrived, she discovered that the celebration was held at a seaside hotel.
As soon as she got out of the car, the sound of waves nearby made her heart skip a beat. Ella frowned, feeling a sudden urge to leave. She considered asking a waiter to deliver the gift and using the excuse of not feeling well to make a swift escape.
However, at this moment, a middle–aged man walked over with a foreign woman. He was the birthday boss.
“Ms. Willow, you’re finally here. I’ve waited for you for a long time.”
The boss was Veilish. His name was Mason Glen, and his wife, Serena Glen, was a local.
“Mr. Glen, Mrs. Glen…”
“When Mason was young, he worked at Willow Group before going overseas. He always remembered his time there. It’s our honor to finally work with your company. He knew you were coming and asked me to prepare a special gift. We’re glad you’re here.” Serena took Ella’s hand warmly. Unable to refuse, Ella could only brace herself and walk in.
Upon entering the hotel lobby, Ella was greeted by classical piano music. Guests were talking, and the sound of the waves was much softer indoors, allowing her to relax a bit.
Ella followed Serena to the lounge and received a uniquely crafted exotic vase from her. After chatting for a while, they both walked out together.
Ella didn’t notice a figure standing at the end of the hall. The person quickly turned around and pretended to make a call, facing the wall. Ella walked past without any hesitation.
After she went downstairs, the man slowly turned around. Her hand that was holding the phone was sweating.
It was Jaden, whose first instinct was to leave the area. However, since Ella was near the stairs, he knew she would see him if he went downstairs. Uncertain of what to do, he overheard two passing waiters talking softly.
“Do you see that? That’s Ella. Our boss has taken a fancy to her. When the time comes, we’ll put the drug in her wine.”
This hotel belonged to Mason, so the boss they were talking about was Mason.
Jaden’s expression turned sullen. A cold light flashed in his eyes.
“Ms. Willow, have a glass of wine. This is the new red wine from Bolton Manor. You know wine. Just try it. If you like it, take some with you. It’s great for gifts to others or yourself.”
“Mrs. Glen, you’re very enthusiastic.”
Ella took the glass of wine and was about to raise it to taste when suddenly the lights in the hotel lobby went out. Only the faint glow from the street lamps outside provided any illumination.
As soon as the lights went out, the lobby erupted into noise and chaos. Ella felt someone hit her hard. She staggered and immediately fell forward.

If she fell, she would be in a terrible state. Instead of the expected pain, someone thin caught Ella in their arms. Their strong embrace held her securely, keeping her steady.

Chapter 203
Ella was enveloped by a faint fragrance of mint, a scent that felt strangely familiar. For a moment, she was dazed, lost in the sense that this person reminded her of someone she knew.
At this moment, she felt a faint touch by her ear. A man’s lips were pressed against her ear.
“Don’t drink. It’s drugged. Glen’s lusting after you. Be careful.”
“Who are you?”
Ella’s heart tightened. The man’s hoarse voice, neither pleasant nor unpleasant, reminded her of a time she had been rescued from the pit while unconscious. It sounded like the same voice.
However, Ella met that man in Ardbert City, and now she was in a foreign country. How could they be the same person?
The man didn’t respond and quickly released Ella. She reached out to him but only managed to grab his sleeve before he swiftly pulled away and disappeared.
“Don’t go…” she cried out.
As the lights flickered back on, Ella narrowed her eyes to adjust her vision. She scanned the room, but no one met her gaze. A thin figure swiftly made his way towards the back door.
Ella subconsciously felt that it was that man. She immediately chased after him.
“Ms. Willow, you haven’t tasted my wine.”
Ella left the wine behind. She gathered up her dress and walked through the crowd, panting as she rushed to the back door.
Behind the building, Ella saw the boundless sea. Waves crashed against the reefs, creating a rhythmic sound.
Ella felt dizzy and struggled to stand, gripping the guardrail for support. The staircase descended directly to a natural swimming pool formed by seawater reefs.
Next to the swimming pool, a cobblestone path meandered off into the distance. It seemed to lead to a guest room or somewhere else.
Ella saw the dark figure getting further and further away.
“Who are you…Don’t go.”
She gritted her teeth and mustered her courage to walk down.
“Who the hell are you…. Was it you in Ardbert City…Stop…”
Before Ella could finish her sentence, her vision blurred and darkness overtook her. She lost her balance and fell into the water with a splashing plop.
Jaden was nervous, unable to turn around for fear of being seen by Ella. After a few tense seconds of hesitation, he looked back and saw that Ella was no longer there.
“Ella?”
He was shocked, wondering if Ella had already fallen into the water. Sure enough, he guessed right.
Ella sank into the water and did not struggle to the shore, motionless and with her eyes tightly shut. If she continued like this, she would surely drown.
Jaden’s heart skipped a beat as he jumped into the sea without hesitation. The seawater was still bone–chilling at this time of the year. His body, no longer as strong as before, struggled against the bone–piercing coldness.
He swam towards Ella with all his might and finally held her hand. He pulled her out of the water and immediately carried her forward.
“Sir?”
Hank was already waiting in the guest room. He was shocked to see Jaden carrying Ella.
“Call the doctor! Go!” he almost shouted. He was so anxious that he was about to go crazy, afraid that something would happen to Ella. Hank did not dare to hesitate and went to find the doctor.
Fortunately, the doctor diagnosed that she had only fainted temporarily because of shock.
Jaden thought, ‘Shock? How could she be overly shocked?‘
Jaden stayed by Ella’s bed. He was fully aware of Ella’s temper, knowing that if he didn’t explain himself now, she would certainly press the issue
