Chapter 2
Jaden sat on the ground, his eyes clear and innocent, totally focused on the food before him. To Ella’s shock, he started barking like a dog.
“Man, he barked! Someone burst into laughter.
“Give me the food” Jaden said, his eyes gleaming with eagerness
The two servants laughed mockingly, tossing the food onto the dirty ground. “Go on, pick it up and eat, you idiot.
“Can’t waste food” Jaden muttered, grabbing the now–soiled bread. He cleaned off the dirty parts before taking a bite. Suddenly, someone grabbed his wrist
“You’re really eating food off the ground?” Ella frowned.
Even though Jaden was Frank’s eldest son, she realized his situation was worse than she had imagined after seeing it firsthand. The only thing she could admit was that he was definitely good–looking.
Hearing the question, Jaden looked at Ella with confusion…

Ella helped Jaden up, took the bread, and then seized one of the servants by the collar, stuffing the bread into his mouth. She slapped the servant twice and then delivered a hard kick to the other one.
This dramatic turn of events caught everyone off guard, Rose’s face turned pale when Ella taught the servants a harsh lesson. As the hostess of the house, Rose thought Ella had crossed the line and was lacking manners, perhaps due to her early loss of parents. Rose was about to give Ella a piece of her mind, but she hesitated when she remembered her plan to angle for the Willow family’s wealth.
Rose’s voice trembled with anger as she reprimanded the servants, “What are you waiting for? Get that fool out of here! He shouldn’t be causing a

The servants hurried to drag Jaden away, handling him roughly. Jaden looked frightened but didn’t resist, knowing that fighting back would only make things worse for him.
Elh spat
out, “Don’t you lay a hand on my mant
The room fell silent. Ella’s fierce warning left Rose stunned, wondering if she had misheard.
Tm marrying him. He’s leaving your nest to spread his wings with me from now on. To be precise, he’s joining my family, and these, Ella gestured to the lavish gifts she had brought, are the wedding gifts.”
“Are you serious!” Rosed asked in shock.
“Absolutely. Can yo
you decide, or should I talk to Mr. Watson directly? Ella asked.
Rose hesitated, deciding to make one last desperate attempt “Actually,” she ventured, “my son Simon Watson has been talking about you constantly He really admires you.”
“Oh! Is he willing to marry into my family? Ella asked.
“No way. He won’t give up his inheritance, Rose replied firmly.
“Then 111 take him,” Ella declared, pointing at Jaden.
Rose’s eyes gleamed with calculation. “Keeping Jaden around was simply draining our resources. If Ella was willing to pay a hefty price, why not let him go? Rose nodded, deciding to allow Jaden to leave without consulting Aaron, the venerable leader of the family.
“From now on, you’re mine. We’re tying the knot. As long as I’m around, you won’t have to worry about food or shelter, Ella turned around, earnestly to Jaden.
“Food?” Jaden’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly. “Alright then.”
Ella sighed, doubting that Jaden understood much beyond the word “food.”

After Ella brought Jaden back with her, the vast villa had been buzzing with more energy. Once they obtained their marriage license, Ella instructed the servants to prepare everything for the wedding.
“Should we keep the engagement decorations? We could reuse them for the weskling,” Hazel suggested.

Ella scowled. “No, I don’t want any of that. Money a problem. Everything will be new. The wedding will be grand, with invitations sent to all the big names in Ardbert City. But leave the groom’s name blank.”
“What?” Hazel was confused.

“Yeah” Ella nodded, having her own plans.
Soon, Jaden came over, fresh from the shower, his hair still damp. With those clear eyes, he looked cute and much younger than his age. “I’m hungry,” he said.
“Hungry? Okay, but let’s set some ground rules. From now on, I’m your wife and you’re my husband. You need to listen to me. As long as you behave, you’ll have food, drinks, a big house, and more money than you’ll know what to do with. Got it? Ella stated firmly.
Jaden hesitated, his eyes briefly showing uncertainty before he brightened and said, “Okay.”
Ella’s heart raced as she realized how incredibly handsome Jaden looked.
During dinner, Jaden ate slowly, leaving nothing wasted. He meticulously wiped his mouth and hands afterward, impressing Ella with his neatness.
Ella’s thoughts drifted back to Harry. If he had spared her even a single glance, she would have moved heaven and earth for him without hesitation. But since Grace had entered the picture, Harry only had eyes for her, leaving Ella to silently endure the pain of being ignored.
While everyone believed she couldn’t live without Harry, her grandpa actually meant the world to her. Now, her grandpa was nearing the end of his life and was eager to see her married and with a child. Ella knew it was time to move forward: she needed to have a baby with Jaden. However, Jaden’s intellectual condition worried her, she feared it might affect their future child.
That night, Ella hesitated outside the guest room door. She knew well the reason she chose Jaden: to spite Harry and find someone she could control. But as she lingered, she realized she had been too impulsive. To sleep with a guy she barely knew? That was too crazy. After all, she was still a virgin
Just as she was about to leave, her phone buzzed. Checking the caller ID, she immediately felt a knot in her stomach. It was her grandpa’s doctor. Henry Davidson. “How’s my grandpa?” she blurted out, filled with concern.
“Not good. He’s delirious and might not make it another year. He keeps asking if he’ll get to see his great–grandchild,” Henry, Devin’s longtime doctor who was practically family, replied with genuine concern.
“He will. I promise!” Ella said firmly, all hesitation gone. She wished she could conceive right away.
After hanging up, she opened the door to the dark room where Jaden appeared to be asleep.
With only basic knowledge from novels herself, she wondered if he knew what to do in bed. Would he panic, or would she need to guide him! Anxiety pounded in her head, but she had no choice. She felt her way to the bed, lifted the covers, and slipped in
The person next to her tensed but quickly relaxed.
As Ella began undressing him, Jaden couldn’t bear it. He couldn’t grasp her urgency to marry him, likely fueled by her humiliation from Harry. While she might believe she was rescuing Jaden from the Watson family, she was actually thwarting his plans. Jaden seized her wandering hands, squeezing them tightly.
“Wait, you’re not asleep?” Ella gasped, her face flushing with embarrassment
“What the hell are you doing?” His voice was clear and cold, sending a shiver down her spine.
