Chapter 196
What kind of granddaughter am I, not knowing he’s already gone for two months? Ella bellowed inwardly as she angrily bit down on Jaden’s hand trying to free herself from his grip. The metallic taste of blood filled her mouth as she glared at him, her chest heaving with rage.
but concerned. “Ella, you’re bleeding… We need to
Despite the pain, Jaden held on, refusing to let go. Instead, he tightened his grip, his voice firm but c get you to the hospital now! This is serious!”
“Someone, call an ambulance! Jaden shouted urgently. “Doctor, prepare the anesthesia?”
Ella’s heart raced with panic as she heard these words. She shouted inwardly. I have to find Grandpa. He has been my rock for over twenty years. ever since Dad and Mom passed away. The baby I’m carrying doesn’t matter; it’s only ten months In her mind, nothing could compare to her grandfather’s importance,
“Let me go. Jaden! I need to see my grandpat Please, just let me go! Grandpa Please don’t leave met I can’t live without you?” Her voice broke as fought against Jaden’s hold. At that moment, she felt no pain in her abdomen, nor did she notice the blood streaming down her legs. Suddenly, she
she didn’t know where she found the strength, but somehow, she managed to wrench herself free from Jaden’s grasp, even breaking through the servants trying to stop her.
The front door is just ahead. No matter what, whether Grandpa is alive or not. I have to see him, Even if I love to crawl to him. I would get to him,’ Ella thought. But just as she was about to escape, a sharp pain shot through her neck. Suddenly, her limbs went numb, and her body became weak and unsteady. She collapsed into Jaden’s strong arms,

It was a tranquilizer dart.
“Jaden. I hate you” Ella forced out those words before slipping into unconsciousness, tears of blood streaking down her cheeks.
Jaden’s heart shattered, and he struggled to breathe. He gently kissed the tear away. “Get her to the hospital!” he ordered, his voice steady, though inside, his heart had already shattered like a crumbling building turning to ruins, he knew that now wasn’t the time to fall apart. Ella needed him, and he couldn’t afford to lose control, not now,
In a flurry of urgency, Jaden scooped Ella up and rushed her to the car, barking at the driver to go faster, as fast as possible.
As the car sped away from the mansion, Jaden didn’t notice a black SUV parked discreetly by the side of the road. Inside the vehicle, a man watched the scene unfold, his expression calm, but his fists clenched so tightly that his nails dug into his palms
Finn had barely survived a disaster at sea and had immediately launched an investigation into the “accident,” which led him straight to Jaden
Finn knew Ella would never have acted like this on her own. He also knew he shouldn’t blame her, but he understood all too well that to hurt Jade he needed to strike where it would hurt the most, and Ella was that weak spot.
Jaden,
Jaden was in pain, and Finn was pleased. But knowing Ella was also suffering brought him both satisfaction and torment. “Will she die? Will the baby survive? Will she hate me? Why is it that every time, I am left with regret, unable to make things right?” he wondered
Finn wanted to laugh in triumph–after all, he had won this time. It was a clean victory, and the mansion was in chaos. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t force a smile. The simple act of moving his lips felt like an unbearable weight on his face.
“Ella, you must hate me now, don’t you? If you can’t love me, then at least hate me. Hate me with all your heart, because that’s still something, right? Hate me forever,” Finn muttered to himself, a bitter, lonely smile finally tugging at his lips,
Ella was rushed to the hospital, and immediately wheeled into the operating room. An emergency C–section was the only option.

“Oxygen, now!”
“Her heart rate’s skyrocketing!”
“She’s losing too much blood!”
Prepare the critical condition notice.
“The baby’s severely oxygen–deprived, heart rate’s dropping fast, we need to act now!”
Voices blurred around Ella. She wanted to open her eyes, to see what was happening, but her eyelids felt unbearably heavy. Is this it? Am I really going to die? Maybe it’d be easier if it all just ends here, she thought.
As the seconds ticked by, Jaden paced anxiously outside the operating room, unable to sit still. His eyes were glued to the door, tom between the dread of it opening and the fear of it staying shut. When they handed him the critical condition form to sign, his hand almost couldn’t hold the pen steady.
Jaden didn’t believe in gods or higher powers–he’d always relied on himself. But at that moment, he found himself silently praying to every force in the universe. He’d do anything, give anything, just to see Ella make it through this. He even vowell to rebuild every church he came across, ba bow before every saint and deity if only she could wake up safely. He didn’t care if it cost him ten or twenty years of his own life.
Chapter 196
Finally, the door opened. The medical team brought the baby out first, rushing it to neonatal care. Shortly after, Ella was wheeled out. She’d lost a lot of blood, but they managed to stabilize her.
“As long as she gets through the next 24 hours, there’s hope. If she doesn’t wake up by then. The doctor didn’t finish the sentence.
Jaden felt the ground sway beneath him. He’d never lost control like this before, barely able to keep himself upright as he leaned against the wall for support. ‘Ells isn’t gone yet. 24 hours. So much can happen in that time. She has to wake up, she just has to, he prayed in his mind.
Ella was moved to the recovery room, the steady beeping of the heart monitor echoing in the sterile air. Her breathing was shallow, her body unable to sustain it on its own, so an oxygen mask was placed over her face.
Jaden stood by Ella’s side, his eyes fixed on her pale face, taking in the tubes and wires connected to her fragile body. A long cut stretched across her abdomen. His heart felt like it was being burned alive, the pain so intense it was hard to breathe. He had never cried before, but now his eyes were bloodshot, and tears streamed down his face uncontrollably. He didn’t say a word, just kept kissing the back of her hand, over and over.
Jaden felt he had so much he wanted to tell Ella, but when all the words gathered together, only a few struggled out of his aching throat. “Ella, it’s so dark down there… if you want to go, I’ll go with you.”“”
The only reason he’d made it this far was to avenge his mother. Now that he’d finally done it, a hollow space had opened in his heart. But then he met Ella, and slowly, that empty space began to fill, giving him a new reason to live. If she died now, there was no point in his life.
“Ella, don’t be afraid. No matter where you go, I’ll be right there with you. If we live, we live together. If we die, we die together?
He used to be terrified of losing her, going to extreme lengths to keep her close, even against her will. But now he realized that the fear of her dying was far worse. Death would take her away forever, leaving nothing behind. When he thought about it, being apart wasn’t the end of the world–at least he’d still be able to love her, even if it was from a distance. But now, even that distant hope was slipping away.
‘Please, don’t die. Jaden begged silently in his mind, ‘If Ella could just survive, then I’d have a reason to keep going!
