Chapter 136
Ella’s eyes widened in shock. Her eyes had adjusted to the darkness, and she recognized Jaden.

Finally, the kiss ended, and Jaden released her.
Jaden suggested, “Ella, let’s talk…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Ella slapped him hard.
In the next instant, she switched on the light and hurried out of bed, eyeing him warily.
A clear palm print appeared on his handsome face. –
“What are you doing here?” Ella looked at Jaden coldly.
Jaden’s long, narrow eyes landed on Ella with emotions she could not read.

It contained the unwillingness, anger, hatred, and dilemma to part with and the feelings that sank deeper and deeper.
‘Didn’t he lose his memory? Why is he looking at me with such a complicated expression?‘ Ella thought in her heart.
“Ella…” It seemed difficult for Jaden to say her name. He needed to enunciate each word clearly and squeeze it between his teeth.
He heaved a long breath and lowered his eyes to hide the obscure light inside.
When he opened his eyes again, he looked at Ella with a clear gaze. “Ella, since you can be with any guy, consider me.”
“As long as you crook your finger, I’ll go over. Give it a try, okay?” There was a hint of pleading in his voice.
Ella was stunned, wondering what Jaden was up to. “What… What’s wrong with you? Are you drunk?”
In the middle of the night, Jaden broke into her home to throw a tantrum. Did he know he was breaking the law and trespassing into a private
house?
“I also thought it was only because I drank too much that I would say such nonsense!” Jaden suddenly stood up from the bed and approached Ella angrily.
Ella was so frightened that she kept retreating but quickly bumped into the wall. She wanted to go around from the side, but Jaden blocked her.
His slender arms blocked her way and wrapped her in a narrow embrace. She felt that she could not breathe properly.
Jaden’s tall figure cast a shadow over Ella’s head, making her at a loss.
Jaden asked, “Ella, I’ve tried everything to prove whether you love me, but all the answers I get is you don’t love me! The reason why you married me back then was because you thought I was stupid and easy to manipulate. If it were someone else, it would also be fine, right?”
Ella said without hesitation, “Right!”
Jaden asked again, “You don’t care if I’m with Liana, right?”
Ella blurted out instantly. “Right!”
Jaden kept pressing, “No matter how I force you into a desperate situation, you won’t come to me and beg me, right?”
“Right!” Ella gazed at him stubbornly.
It was only three words she answered, but why did it feel like it was burning her heart and lungs every time she spat it out?
Jaden’s eyes gradually turned red. His large hand pinched Ella’s chin forcefully, forcing her to look straight at him. “Ella, how can I believe someone like you has feelings?”
“Mr. Watson, I truly want to know what kind of person I am. Can you tell me?” Ella retorted.
“You just want an obedient dog that sticks around you and always needs you. This person can be poor, ugly, short, or fat. You don’t care at all! You only care about the feeling of being needed. Ella, you only love yourself from the beginning to the end. You’re fine with being with any man! Any man…” Jaden emphasized the last two words.
Ella listened and almost believed it. Before she met Jaden, she was indeed like that.
She lacked love and desperately needed someone who relied on her to prove her worth.

It was best to stick around her alone. That someone didn’t have to love her, but he would have to fill her life and need her very much.
But when did she change? She changed the moment she met the fool, Jaden.
It was like tea–colored amber, so clean that it did not allow her to have any ill intentions.
At that moment, Ella decided Jaden was the one. Even if he wasn’t what she’d expected, once she took him back, she’d be responsible for him for the rest of his life.
Back then, she didn’t know that her turbulent feelings were love.
She was so afraid of water, but for him, she jumped into the pool without hesitation.
She boarded the smuggling ship and was floating on the sea. The fear of death enveloped her at all times, but she insisted on taking a look.
Ella had to confirm whether he was dead or alive! Otherwise, how could she accept it and live with ease?
Thinking that he was dead, her world was about to collapse.
Ella had set up charity funds and saved people with cerebral palsy. She had met many patients but could not feel what she felt for Jaden.
She realized she had genuinely fallen in love.
But at the moment, she was a heartless person in Jaden’s eyes!
Could it be more ironic?
“Harry has been around me for years and hasn’t been obedient. I just kicked him away without showing any mercy. You were also disobedient and even out of my control. What was the point of keeping you by my side if I didn’t kick you away as soon as possible?
“Jaden, don’t tell me you’ve thought of something and realized you still have feelings for me. After all, I’m good–looking and have a good figure. Understandably, you’re lingering around me.”
Jaden sneered, “You were overthinking it. I just felt disgusted at the thought of being married to someone like you!”
“So you felt so disgusted tonight that you came to confront me, huh? It’s my fault. I’m going to sell my shares soon and leave Ardbert City. I must be far away from you, somewhere you can’t see. Mr. Watson, are you satisfied now?” Ella said, thinking Jaden would be at ease after hearing her words.
Unexpectedly, Jaden grabbed her wrist tightly. “Dream on. Are you trying to get rid of me like this? I’ll see who dares to take over your company!”
“Jaden, have you had enough? I had ill intentions when I chose you back then. But what about you? Are you sure there’s nothing between you and Liana? You slept with her in the hotel shamelessly behind my back! You kept it from me and didn’t tell me your true identity, but you gave money to your ex–girlfriend to help the Reid family tide over the crisis. You cheated on me and betrayed our marriage first. You even used me as a cover to make Liana regret, didn’t you?”
Jaden was stunned. “What did you say? I slept with Liana?”
“Wasn’t that true? Jaden, take the old times as a gift from me. ̧ Just don’t come to me again. Your love is nothing to me. So are you!” Ella roared angrily.
Jaden explained, “Ella, nothing happened between me and Liana.”
“Nonsense! The video she sent is already so explicit. You’ve been in her hotel for almost twenty minutes. Don’t you know what you’ve done?” Ella
didn’t believe him.
Jaden said again, “What video? Let me see it.”
“Go find Liana. Get lost!” Ella pushed him hard.
In the end, Ella felt a sharp pain in her stomach.
It hurt so much that her face instantly turned pale. She squatted on the ground in pain and clutched her stomach.
Jaden stepped forward with worry. “What’s wrong?”
Ella sucked in a breath from the pain. She bit her lip tightly and raised her reddened eyes as she spoke word by word. “Jaden, whether I live or die has nothing to do with you! I only want you to stay away from me…”
Jaden asked in confusion. “Are you bleeding? Are you on your period?”
The ground was covered in blood.
Jaden remembered her period was not during this time.

But then, Ella was bleeding, and it seemed the situation was critical.
Jaden rushed her. “Go straight to the hospital.”
“It’s none of your business…” At the moment, Ella had no strength to push Jaden away. Her words were dry, with no imposing aura. She curled up weakly in his arms, breaking out in cold sweat from the pain.
Jaden was burning with anxiety and did not have the time to continue confronting her.
He grabbed a servant who could drive and told her to drive them to the hospital.
When they arrived at the hospital, they went to the gynecology department. Then, Ella got rushed into the ward with the reminder that men should wait outside.
“Sir, please wait here. Only ladies are allowed in.” The nurse tried to stop Jaden, but Jaden grabbed her collar.
“I’m her husband!” With that, Jaden barged in.
That cold gaze made people not dare to look at him for long.
“Doctor, what’s wrong with her? Why is she in so much pain during her period?” asked Jaden.
It was not the doctor who answered him, but Ella. “Doctor… I… Is my baby okay?”
She could not care less and only held the doctor’s hand tightly then.
Jaden stood rooted to the ground as the information exploded in his mind.
He thought, ‘Baby?‘
