Chapter 133
Ella went to the hospital and brought some food for Lisa.

Ella briefly recounted what had happened to the Wale family, and Lisa sneered, “They just won’t give up, thinking every place is like that backwater village where they can solve everything with brute force and shameless tactics. My mom is too soft–hearted, always considering my brother’s situation and avoiding conflict. But her constant tolerance only made them think she was easy to bully.
Lisa added, “My brother is ruined. With a father and grandmother like that, what kind of decent person could he possibly become? Ms. Willow, it’s because I came back too late that you had to handle my family’s issues. I really can’t thank you enough.”
As she finished speaking, Lisa tried to bow, and Ella couldn’t stop her in time.
Lisa cried out, “Ms. Willow, I will never forget the kindness you’ve shown to me and my mother. I don’t blame you for what happened to my mom. She often called me, saying she thought of you as her own daughter, though she felt too lowly to say it aloud.
“You’ve also taken good care of her, and it was only natural for her to protect you. In the Tard family, she didn’t suffer any mistreatment. Thank you, Ms. Willow.”
Ella’s eyes began to well up.
Sincerity was met with sincerity, unlike with some people, who were ungrateful, never satisfied no matter how much Ella did for them.

Ella helped Lisa up and insisted she go rest while she took over keeping watch.
She gently massaged Hazel, hoping she would wake up soon.
Suddenly, Hazel’s hand twitched slightly.
Ella was overjoyed. “Hazel?”
Hazel’s eyelids began to flutter.
“Doctor, doctor…” Ella quickly called the doctor, and Hazel woke up!
Hazel’s mouth was a bit crooked, and she spoke with a slight lisp, but she hadn’t lost her ability to speak.
Hazel looked at Ella, tears streaming down her face.
Ella called Lisa over.
“Mom…” Lisa rushed over and cried like a child.
Ella silently watched the scene, then stepped out to give them some privacy.
She began to think about her own family.
She remembered that day was her mother’s birthday, and her father had planned a big surprise, taking her and her mother out to dinner.
But the car suddenly malfunctioned, crashing through the guardrail and into the sea.
They struggled to escape from the car, just as the tide was rising.
They were trapped on the rocks, but the water gradually rose, submerging the rocks.
Her parents worked together to lift her above the water.
At the time, Ella was already unconscious from the cold.
Later, the rescue team finally arrived and saved her first, but her parents were too exhausted, sinking into the sea. When they were retrieved, they had already stopped breathing.
Ever since then, holidays had been Ella’s worst nightmare, especially during Christmas when the servants would go home.
At that time, the house would be eerily quiet, and she was terrified of the silence.
To keep people around, she offered triple overtime pay and various benefits.
Hazel would stay behind each time, not going to be with her own daughter, but instead staying with Ella, telling her stories about Christmas stories.
Even when offered money, Hazel refused, saying she was willing to stay with Ella out of her own heart, needing no reward.

Chapter 133
To Ella, Hazel was no longer just a servant, but a family with no blood relation.
Ella staggered out of the hospital and sat helplessly by the flowerbed,
Just then, a limping figure approached.
A bloodstained hand held out a document as he said, “Here, I keep my promises. I never lie to women.”
Ella was stunned to see a very disheveled Chase in front of her.
His clothes were tattered, and his red hair looked like it had been chewed by a dog, messy and uneven.
His face, hands, and legs were covered with various wounds, already scabbed over with thick, crusted blood.
Ella said, “What… what happened to you? Who beat you up?”
“Don’t worry about who did it. Here, take this. He proudly shoved the document into her hands.
Ella opened it and saw that it was a blank contract, identical to the previous one.
The first party, Garvand Biotech Company, had already signed it, with Kevin’s signature and company seal.
She immediately understood what had happened. Chase had probably been beaten by Kevin.
Now, with just Ella’s signature, the contract would become effective immediately.
Kevin said, “Well, how’s that? Am I great or what…”
Before he could finish, Ella tore the contract in half.
Chase was shocked, glaring at her angrily. “What are you doing? Do you know how many beatings I took from that old bastard to get this?”
He hurriedly bent down to pick up the pieces, cradling them like treasures.
Ella realized that Chase did this purely for his own pride, wanting to prove he hadn’t failed a woman and lost face.
Even if it meant going against his father and getting beaten like this, he still had to bring the contract back.
Despite that, Ella was deeply touched.
She snatched the pieces from him and threw them into the trash.
Chase tried to retrieve them, but she held him back.
Ella said, “Enough, I appreciate your good intentions. But if I actually took this contract, it would mean making an enemy of Garvand Biotech Company.”
Chase said, “Are you afraid of that old bastard making things difficult for you?”
“No father likes seeing his son defy him for an outsider. The fact that you managed to get this contract means he compromised for a moment. If I were ignorant and focused only on immediate gains, it would only accelerate the downfall of the Willow Group. So, thank you, but I don’t need
this.
Hearing this, Chase felt crushed.
He still couldn’t measure up to his father in Ella’s heart.
Chase said, “I’m the only heir to the Guerra family, and I’ll take over the company someday. Then-”
“But under your father’s rule, I wouldn’t last two or three years. I’ve already offended Denison Group. If I also cross the largest biotech company, I’d be done for.”
“Just wait, I’ll go back now and seize power!” Chase’s eyes flashed with determination, and he turned to leave.
Ella was exasperated.
She quickly grabbed him. “Calm down, I really don’t need it now. I want to sell the company and be done with it.”
“What?” Chase stared at her in shock. “You’re going to sell the company, and then what?”
Ella said, “Leave the country, go somewhere no one knows me, and live quietly. As long as I have money, I’ll be fine. If I sell it now, I can still get a good price.

“You’re giving up on fighting Jaden?”
“I can’t beat him. I surrender.” She shrugged indifferently. If Jaden kept pushing, her only option would be to run.
“I’m sorry.”
Chase looked dejected, but even so, he still tried to hold his head high, but while apologizing, his head drooped.
“I can’t help you with anything,” he said.
“It’s fine. We’re not that close anyway. The fact that you did this much already means a lot to me.”
She patted Chase on the shoulder, making him wince in pain..
She was startled and quickly pulled back his clothes to reveal his bruised shoulder.
Ella said, “You’re in the hospital anyway. Go get it checked out.”
“It’s nothing, just some superficial wounds, no big deal…”
Just then, Chase’s stomach growled.
He awkwardly covered his stomach and said, “I… I have something to do, I’ll
With that, he hobbled away.
But his limping run wasn’t fast, making it almost comical.
go now.”
Ella couldn’t help but worry, so she secretly followed him and found that he didn’t drive but wandered the streets.
As he walked, he made phone calls, and he was asking to borrow money.
