Chapter 131
After leaving Brandon, Ella felt like the air had suddenly become much fresher.
She planned to head to the company to handle some matters, but then the hospital called.
A doctor said, “The patient’s condition has worsened. An emergency surgery is required, and a family member must come to the hospital to sign the consent form!”
Ella’s heart skipped a beat, and she immediately turned back, grabbed Brandon, and got into the car.
The two of them finally arrived at the hospital. Ella pushed Brandon forward and said, “Go sign the papers. Hurry up!”
“Wait a minute, I I need to call my grandma,” Brandon said.
“Do it next
time. There’s no
time for that now! Sign the papers and save her!”
“I can’t, I need to make the call.”
“Hurry up!” Ella was frantic, nearly at her wit’s end.
Brandon immediately went to the side and made the call.
Brandon said, “Grandma, now they need me to sign to save her.”
Martha said, “I don’t know what kind of luck Hazel stumbled upon to have a rich lady caring so much about her. Since that’s the case, you should use this to your advantage.”
“How do I do that?”
“Make her agree to marry you. If she agrees, then sign the papers.”
“Okay, Grandma, that’s a brilliant idea!” Brandon was thrilled.
He hung up, and Ella immediately grabbed his hand. “Can you sign the papers now?”
“Ella, marry me, and I will take care of you for the rest of your life. I’ll always be good to you. If you agree to marry me, I’ll sign the papers.”
“What did you say?” Ella thought she had misheard.
Brandon really had the nerve to ask.
“Ella, I’m serious. You care so much about my mom. If we get married, we’ll be farmily, and my mom will be your mom.”
“And what if I don’t agree?” Her expression turned cold.
“Then I won’t sign.”
“You…”
“Fine, I agree!” Ella gritted her teeth.
Brandon said, “Then look at the screen. I’ll record a video, just in case you deny it later.”
At such a serious moment, Brandon was not stupid.
Ella had no choice but to say, “I am willing to marry Brandon as his wife. Is that Okay?”
“Yes, Ella… I mean, darling.” Brandon was overjoyed and quickly signed the papers.
Ella clenched her fists tightly, thinking she would definitely arrange for a gang of thugs to drag Brandon into an alley later and give him a good beating.
症
But right now, she couldn’t think about that.
She anxiously waited outside the operating room, pacing back and forth, unable to sit still.
But Brandon was already eager to get their marriage certificate.
He had brought everything important with him when the family moved, including the household registration book.
Brandon said, “Darling, let’s go get the marriage certificate.”

Ella asked, “Did you forget you already have a wife?”
“We didn’t get married.”
“What?” Ella was stunned.
“My grandma said that only when she gives me a son will we get married, so up until now, she’s not really my wife.”
Ella was seeing the true depth of human shamelessness for the first time.
By comparison, Jaden seemed more likable.
Ella thought, Jaden is a scumbag, but at least he is handsome, rich, and tall! Brandon is a scumbag, but he is also poor and mean!‘
“Why don’t you go back and get the household registration book first?” Ella didn’t want to see him for even one more second. She didn’t even want to act anymore.
No matter what happened to Hazel, as soon as the surgery was over, she was done with this family.
“Okay, darling, wait here for me.” Brandon left, full of excitement.
But he didn’t expect that as soon as he stepped out of the hospital, he would be “invited” away.
Ella had planned to do something, but someone else had already taken care of it.
Brandon asked, “Who are you people?”
Brandon was being held by two burly men as he sat in a long Bentley, looking at the imposing man across from him, feeling a bit scared.
Jaden had followed them all the way here and overheard what Brandon said.
Jaden thought, ‘Did he really think he could call her darling?‘
“What is Ella to you?” Jaden asked darkly.
Brandon said, “You know my wife?”
Jaden said, “Pull his teeth out.”
On the car, Brandon screamed in pain.
One by one, his bloody teeth were pulled out and thrown into the trash.
His mouth was full of blood, and the pain was unbearable.
Jaden said, “I’ll ask you again, what is Ella to you?”
“She’s my wife…”
Before he could finish, Jaden, impatient, waved his hand. “Cut out his tongue.”
This time, Brandon wised up and immediately covered his mouth, saying, “She’s not my wife. I have nothing to do with her.”
Jaden asked, “You sure?”
Brandon said, “Sure!”
“But I still find you annoying!”
Jaden waved his hand, and his men dragged Brandon out of the car and gave him a severe beating.
Brandon was left with a swollen face and a broken arm.
He pathetically reported the assault to the police, describing the features of the men who beat him. But there were so many people in Ardbert City. He couldn’t find Jaden.
When asked for the car’s license plate number, Brandon couldn’t remember. All he knew was that the car was very long.
Even checking the surveillance footage turned up nothing, as it had been tampered with..
The clues Brandon provided were helpful, so the police didn’t pursue it.
Brandon returned home in disgrace, and Martha saw him in a sorry state.

Chapter 131
Brandon said, “Grandma, maybe we should just forget about Ella. That man looked like someone powerful, and I couldn’t afford to offend him. I got beaten up, and there’s no use in reporting it. I think it’s one of her enemies, and I don’t want to drag our family into it. Let’s just take the compensation and leave.”
Brandon was scared. He had been beaten badly, and now he was in pain all over, limping as he walked.
But treating a serious illness at a hospital was expensive, and without connections, he couldn’t even get an appointment with a specialist.
He didn’t want to spend the money, so he gritted his teeth and came back.
Martha heard this and her eyes darted around as she quickly came up with a plan.
Martha said, “We can’t let her off that easily. Since it’s because of her that you ended up like this, we should at least get some compensation. If she didn’t compensate us, we won’t leave.
“I think this house is nice. If they give us the house as compensation, we’ll have a place to stay.”
“Can we do that?” Brandon was unsure.
“Leave it to me. I have fought many battles in the village and never lost.” Martha was ready to fight.
Ella didn’t know about Brandon’s beating. She had been waiting at the hospital the whole time, not eating or drinking.
Therefore, her eyes were red from tiredness.
The surgery had lasted four hours, and Lisa finally arrived.
“How’s my mom?” Lisa asked.
Ella said, “She’s still in surgery. I don’t know how things are going.”
Lisa, hearing this, grabbed Ella’s hand tightly. “You must be exhausted. Go rest. I’ll wait here,”
“No, I’ll wait,” Ella said.
Neither of them left.
Lisa had traveled a long way, taking several modes of transportation, and hadn’t relaxed for a moment. She was tense the entire time.
Ella was pregnant and hadn’t had rest the entire time.
They were both visibly exhausted.
Another three hours passed, and finally, the light in the operating room went off.
The tension in their minds reached its peak.
Ella, feeling light–headed from low blood sugar, nearly fainted, but Lisa caught her.
Lisa asked, “Doctor, how’s my mom?”
