Chapter 130
During the meal, Brandon kept complaining about how small the foie gras was and the bread was barely enough for a few bites.
He even ate the decorative mint.
As he ate, he kept sticking out his tongue.
Brandon said, “This place isn’t any good. Let’s just find a place that serves some good hot dishes.”
Ella said, “You’re right. Next time, we’ll eat at home.”
“You’re really easygoing.” Brandon felt a bit happy because Ella was more approachable than he had imagined.
Whatever he said, she would agree. Sometimes, when he mentioned things from the countryside, she’d look at him with admiration.
She’d occasionally marvel, “Really? Brandon, you’re so strong.”
“Your wife must feel so secure with a husband like you. I really envy her.”
Brandon felt proud, and his male ego was immensely satisfied.
Brandon said, “You don’t need to envy her, Ella. If you’re willing…”
Ella said, “Brandon, I’ve had enough to eat. I’m going to the restroom.”
“Sure.” Brandon felt a little disappointed.
But he took this opportunity to pay the bill, showcasing his manliness.
Ella went to the restroom and gagged, feeling nauseated.
She rinsed her mouth, and when she looked up, she was startled to see a man appear in the mirror.
“This… this is the women’s restroom!”
“And so?” Jaden said calmly, staring at her intently. “What? Is your stomach upset?”
“What’s it to you?” Ella pretended to be calm.
“Ella, how could you take a fancy to that man? You could even eat a meal with him?” Jaden looked slightly angry.
“I thought Harry was lowly enough, but you’ve found someone worse than him. Don’t you know anything about self–respect?” Jaden said.
He grabbed her wrist, squeezing it so hard that her wrist instantly turned red with pain.
Ella couldn’t break free and glared at him angrily.
“My business is none of your concern! Who do you think you are?” With that, she lifted her foot and kicked him hard.
It was a brutal blow, and if Jaden hadn’t dodged quickly, he would be seriously injured.
His face turned terrifyingly dark.
*Ella, you’ve got some nerve,” Jaden said.
“You want to see just how much nerve I have, Jaden? You should mind your own business.” With that, she stormed out angrily.
As soon as she left, she heard Brandon’s angry voice. “What kind of wine costs 3,000 dollars? You may as well go rob the bank!”
The waiter said, “Sir, be reasonable, 1 asked if you wanted to open it, and you confirmed. Our prices are clearly marked. The total for this meal is 4,640 dollars. If you can’t pay, I’ll have to call the police.”
“You…. even if you call the police, and they won’t side with you. You’re overcharging”
The waiter said, “Then I’ll have to call the police.”
The waiter was about to make a call.
The memory of Martha being arrested flashed through Brandon’s mind, making him nervous.
He had only brought 400 dollars, and the rest of the money was with Martha.

Ee thought 200 dollars would be the maximum cost, but he hadn’t expected such a meal to cost about 6,000 dollars. randon thought, ‘And with that 10% service fee on top, I’m basically just giving them money. It’s absolutely ridiculous!
ut now, he had to accept it because everyone was watching him, and it was embarrassing.
You… wait a moment. I’ll call my friend. She has money.”
t this point, it was no longer about showing manliness. He just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Te called Ella, and Ella was hiding nearby, watching the drama unfold.
When she saw the call, she hesitated but answered it.
randon said, “Ella, where are you? I… My wallet was stolen. Can you help me pay the bill? I’ll deduct it from the compensation later.” Ella said, “Sure, but my stomach hurts. I’m still in the restroom. Can you wait a bit longer?”
How long will it take? They’re all staring at me, afraid I won’t pay. It’s really embarrassing.”
But Brandon, my stomach hurts. There’s nothing I can do. I’ll be as quick as I can, Okay? Sorry for the trouble, Brandon.”
That last sentence made Brandon feel like he could wait an eternity.
Sure. Take your time. I’m not in a hurry.”
After hanging up, Ella gagged a few more times and thought, ‘It was too disgusting.
Acting sweet with Brandon made her want to vomit.
It had nothing to do with morning sickness.
At that moment, Jaden’s voice startled her again. “You’re doing this on purpose?”
“Do you walk without making a sound?” Ella shot him an annoyed glance.
He stared at her deeply, enunciating each word. “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
Ella said, “What’s it to you?”
“Ella, just answer my question. I don’t like it when you dodge.”
Jaden, I’m not Liana, and I’m not your subordinate. Who do you think you are…”
Before she could finish, Jaden suddenly leaned down and kissed her.
She stared in shock at his handsome face, her mind going blank.
Ella thought, ‘What’s going on now? This scoundrel! He’s divorced from me and still entangled with Liana, and now he pesters me!‘
Furious, she raised her hand and slapped him hard.
The sound was crisp and clear, startling the nearby diners. Even Brandon looked over.
Ella had no choice but to come out of hiding.
She glared coldly at Jaden and said harshly, “Jaden, stay out of my business. What kind of man I choose, whether I have self–respect or not, has nothing to do with you! I can choose someone like Chase from our circle or even a crude country bumpkin. It’s none of your business. Go and take care of Liana. Stop wasting time picking fights with me.”
With that, she turned and left.
Jaden’s face was marked with a clear handprint.
But he didn’t feel the pain because his heart was already numb.
“Ella, you’re finally back” Brandon looked at her as if she were his savior.
Ella pulled him along to leave quickly
Brandon said, ‘Ella, I wasn’t satisfied with this meal. Let’s go see a movie…
I’m not in the mood, Ella almost yelled but held back.

She apologized, “Sorry, the company has some matters I need to attend to.”
“You’re working too hard. You need to find a man to rely on, someone who can handle things for you. You should stay home, take care of the elders and kids, and enjoy life.”
Ella thought, “Taking care of elders and kids is enjoying life?‘
Ella wondered if Brandon was out of his mind.
She really didn’t have the patience to deal with him right now and was getting irritated.
“Why don’t you take a cab home? I have to go.”
“Ella, Ella…” Brandon called out to her but only saw Ella’s hurried figure leaving.
“She still needs a man like me to keep her in line,” Brandon sighed.
