88 Sharing the truth
Mrs Harlow felt her head throb. She did not know what to tell
Ariel, was she supposed to tell her the truth or another lie?
However, Ariel was not in the mood to give Mrs Harlow time to come up with an excuse. She took out all her frustration, anger and unhinged emotions before screaming again, “YOU KNOW
HOW MUCH I WANT TO MARRY NOAH!”
Tears streamed down her face as she glared at her mother and bit her bottom lip. “I have been waiting for that bitch to divorce him for ages, isn’t this why I did all those things? Do you think I want to be the side woman? I want to be the legitimate Mrs Nelson and not some dirty mistress!”
Ariel couldn’t understand why her mother, who had always supported her, started to suddenly support Ari. She glared at her mother intensely and questioned angrily, “Am I a joke to you? Do you think that I am only worthy of someone’s mistress? Is this why you don’t want Ari to divorce Noah?”
Mrs Harlow felt as if someone had pushed her into an ice cellar. She immediately walked over to her eldest daughter and took her hands in hers, she shook her head fervently and said to Ariel, “Of course not, how can I even think of something like that? You are my precious daughter. Of course, I want you to have the best of everything.”
“If that is the case, then why did you ask Ari to stop the proceedings?” Ariel questioned her mother. She stared at her

“There is a reason for that,” Mrs Harlow said to Ariel with nervousness in her voice who glared at her and remarked, “What reason could be so important for you to break my heart? Mom, this is the last opportunity that I will get to get close to Noah. If Ari stops the proceedings, then I will always be in the shadows, I will be the other woman!”
Ariel was well aware of how much Ari loved Noah. Unlike her, who had never put her ambitions behind for a man, Ari was willing to do everything for Noah.
It was a miracle that Ari was willing to divorce him if she stopped the proceedings now– Ariel knew that Ari would never agree to divorce Noah again.
And with how desperate Noah was this time around, he might even give Ari a child to bind her to him!
A child!
That was not a joke. If the two of them shared a bed, then what about her? What would happen to her?
Mrs Harlow noticed that Ariel was very upset with her, and something told her that if she did not tell the truth to Ariel, her daughter might do something really dangerous. And she did. not want her daughter to walk down a path that would lead her to ruin. Not to mention, Ari couldn’t be touched.
“I will tell you the truth, Ariel,” said Mrs Harlow, she looked around and pulled Ariel away from the door. Ariel looked at
Mrs Harlow with a frown when she was dragged further inside
the room.

Sharine the truth
Her brows scrunched up as she snapped, “What are you-—‘
“Ariana was bought by the people of the Serpents
Organization,” Mrs Harlow suddenly blurted out, causing Ariel to pause. She looked down at her mother with a startled expression, “What do you mean by bought?”
Mrs Harlow wrung her hands as she sat down on the plush bed, agitation was written on her face. Once the truth was out of her mouth, she could no longer stop as she stated, “When Ari was born, a few months later … several people came looking for us. They told me that if I hand over my daughter to their organization, they will give me money in return.”
Ariel’s eyes widened as she exclaimed in a hushed whisper, “And you handed Ariana to them?” It wasn’t that Ariel minded her mother handing Ariana to a shady organization that was known for pimping women and selling human organs.
What made her upset was that her mother never shared that money with her!”
How dare she!
Mrs Harlow, however, thought that Ariel was reproaching her. She flapped her hands animatedly and snapped, “What was I supposed to do? Your good–for–nothing father was kicked out of his job, and I was the only one who was responsible for raising three kids and taking care of this house alone.”
The more she spoke, the more angry she became.
After a while, she spat and stated coldly, “They came to me when I was running out of money to pay for the apartment

where we used to live when you three were young. I had no other choice, and the offer that they suggested was too tempting to let go.”
Mrs. Harlow did feel a bit guilty when she agreed to hand her daughter to that criminal organization, but when she thought about the benefits, it might bring her, she suppressed her guilt and agreed. @
“Then why did they not take her right away?” Ariel questioned. If there was no Ariana, then her life would be much easier! Mrs
Harlow glared at her foolish daughter and remarked, “Where do you think those hard and rough men will keep a child? They would end up killing her in a few days.”
She rubbed her forehead and then stated in a quiet voice, “However, they did try to take her away when she was around ten. But an old woman stopped them just in time, causing them to lose Ari. Later on, that meddlesome old woman was
killed, good riddance I will say. Who asked her to meddle in
matters that did not concern her?” @
Mrs Harlow held a strong distaste in her mouth because she wanted to get rid of Ari as quickly as possible. That way she wouldn’t have gotten entangled with so many troubles. “Because that woman died, the entire situation was brought to light and your father and I were severely reprimanded.”
