Chapter 75
Dylan POV.
I just stared at the shell of the man in front of me, I was completely unsure of what to do so I turned to Lewis, who looked even more puzzled than I was.
By the look of his face, I’d say he didn’t even know who the man was. I mean if Carlos had in fact been taken straight to the dungeon then I guess half the castle wouldn’t know who he was.
“Aren’t you that rebellion leader?” Lewis asked as he approached the knelt man who had yet to lift his head out of his hands. “I thought you’d already been…” The beta quickly caught his words before they left his mouth. His comment once again bought me back to the reality that Lewis was in fact a wolf, who had been raised on the notion that executions were just.
“Carlos, you haven’t accepted her have you?” For once, I wouldn’t have blamed him at all if he had have. I mean, if she was actually pregnant then that would mean he was going to be a father, I’m not even sure what I would do in that situation.
“Not yet.” He sniffed and wiped his eyes hard with his palms clearly trying to pull himself together. “That’s why I’m still locked up.” He jiggled his chains and released a hollow chuckle at his words before finally looking up at me and smiling sadly. He took a deep breath in before nodding his head at my appearance. “You look well niña!” I didn’t feel it.
My burns were still a cause for concern, after going for some treatment the doctor believes my left forearm holds a 4th degree burn, meaning it has damaged my muscles. This seemed likely as my wrist although still somewhat flexible lacked the range of moment it used to have.
“The kings gone!” I stated as I stepped closer to the man I’d gotten to know during my own imprisonment. “Somewhere in Australia.” He nodded and eventually began to try and stand only to stumble back onto his knees. I was quick to jump to his aid, although the pair of us were struggling.
“Forgive me niña, my muscles aren’t what they used to be.” Lewis too quickly approached the human man and took hold of him taking most of his weight in the process which both me and Carlos were grateful for. He gently lead Carlos over to the sofas and sat him down next to where I was originally sat.
“Neither are mine don’t worry, now, what is going on?” I crouched down in front of him and looked at the fresh glass of water the beta had previously bought for me, I grasped it in my thin hand and held it out for Carlos to take. Which he gratefully did.
“Lorellia came into my cell this morning, like she usually does only she was too excited, I knew something was up, that’s when she announced she was pregnant. She said her mate and the father of her baby can’t be kept locked up like I was, she needed me with her. She’s demanded she get a scan tomorrow.” He really was up to his neck, he’d spent years down in the dungeon, only for him to be taken out to watch his rapist have a baby he didn’t want. “I don’t want to be a father again, I love my daughter, but I can’t love this baby, I just can’t.”
“If she hasn’t had her scan yet then it must not be guaranteed that she’s actually pregnant.” Surly that’s the case right? Sure she probably did a test, but until the scan has been completed the pregnancy can’t have been
confirmed.

Chapter 75
“No, lady Lorellia is definitely pregnant, wolves can pick up fetal heart beats at about 4 weeks give or take. We’ve all heard it…” Carlos’s head turned towards beta Lewis, I’m not sure he realized just who was in the room with us because his face paled instantly.
“When I said I didn’t want the baby I…” He trailed off before swallowing thickly and glancing at me before turning back to Lewis. “I only meant that…”
