Chapter 1789

Hertha finally felt a wave of relief wash over her as the issue with Helena was finally put to rest. She quickly agreed, adding, “Yeah, yeah, grandma’s cooking is the best, so clean and just as tasty as KFC.”
The kids didn’t say another word after that. After all, it’s pretty easy to please children; a good meal usually does the trick.
Once she got the kids to bed and they drifted off to sleep, Hertha finally relaxed and called Thalassa to recount the day’s events.
Thalassa was shocked. “Alaric really jumped the gun this time, didn’t he? Whisking away the kids without a word, he could’ve given someone a heart attack.”
“Tell me about it. I used to think he was alright, but it turns out he’s the kind of guy who doesn’t think about anyone else! I must’ve been out of my mind to have fallen for him so hard. Being a sucker for good looks really bites, huh?” Hertha sighed.
“What’s done is done, no point in regretting. The main thing is the kids are safe,” Thalassa consoled.
“Speaking of which, how are things with you and Lysander now? Cleared up all those misunderstandings, I hope?” Hertha suddenly remembered, having been too caught up with her own worries to ask about Thalassa and Lysander’s situation. Ads by PubFuture

“I actually thought Lysander had been living with Rosalind, but it turns out nothing happened between them. They’ve always kept their distance,” Thalassa explained, her voice filled with relief.
Hertha exclaimed, “Lysander is such a catch, so devoted and pure. He’s never involved with other women, just totally into you. Plus, he’s handsome and outstanding. Thalassa, you’ve got a good one.”
Thalassa could hear the teasing in Hertha’s voice but didn’t argue. Lysander was indeed a great guy.
“It’s late, and you’ve had a shock. Try to get some rest,” said Thalassa.
“Okay, you too.”
As soon as Thalassa hung up, the door opened and Lysander wheeled in.
“Your bestie filling you in on her troubles again?” he asked with his deep, soothing voice.
Thalassa turned, a wave of warmth washing over her at the sight of him.
She moved forward, pushing his

“I’ve never seen Alaric so invested in a woman before. Hertha has changed him; he’s just starting to find his way, lots to learn, which is normal,” Lysander said, seemingly defending Alaric. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
That was unexpected.
Lysander usually kept to himself, not one to meddle or take sides.
But Alaric was his good friend, and it seemed Lysander would still stand up for him when it mattered.
“He doesn’t need to learn; he’s missing a screw. But it’s their issue to solve, and us worrying won’t help,” Thalassa quickly changed the subject.
After wheeling Lysander to the bed,
she sat down and began massaging his legs, saying, “The jewelry design competition’s finals are coming up in a few days. I’ll need to work late on the designs tonight. Will you be okay sleeping on your own? Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
Thalassa waited for a response, but getting none, she looked up curiously only to find Lysander’s deep eyes intently fixed on her.
That look was all too familiar to her. Her cheeks reddened, and she became flustered, stammering, “What’s wrong, is there something on my face?” She even touched her face in a self-conscious gesture.
Lysander’s lips curved into a smile as he said, “I can stay up with you while you work. We’ll sleep when you’re done.”
Thalassa immediately protested, “No, you can’t do that. Staying up late is bad for your health.”
But Lysander gently lifted her chin, his eyes full of affection as he whispered, “Before, sleeping alone was fine. But now, without you, I just can’t sleep…”Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
