Chapter 1660Lance looked at Zoey, his eyes full of affection, and said, “So, we’re playing the ‘girlfriend’ card
now? Don’t worry, I’ll handle Thalassa’s registration. She’s a perfect fit. In competitions like these,
who cares about work experience? It’s all about the dazzle of the designs.”
Zoey beamed at Thalassa, “Hear that? You’re totally in. Add Lance on WhatsApp, and you can sign
up tomorrow.”
Thalassa quickly pulled out her phone, her manners polished yet modest, and humbly said to
Lance, “Let me add you as a contact.”
“Sure thing,” Lance responded, whipping out his phone with ease.
Once they were connected, Thalassa felt a wave of relief wash over her. She raised her glass in a
toast, filled with gratitude towards Lance and Zoey, and also made a special mention of Dr. Jamal
for introducing her to them.

The next day, Thalassa reached out to Lance and signed up for the Azure Star jewelry design
competition.
Just after sending the registration email, the sound of her doorbell echoed through her apartment.
NôvelDrama.Org owns this.Closing her laptop, Thalassa went to answer the door, a spontaneous smile lighting up her face as
she said, “Hertha, I just signed up for—”
But her excitement froze mid-sentence as she saw Rosalind standing there, not Hertha. Her smile
faded, her voice losing its warmth as she asked, “What brings you here?”
Seeing Thalassa reminded Rosalind of the four children Thalassa had with Lysander, who was soon
to be her own husband. The sight of Thalassa choked her up.Thalassa was a thorn in her side, a constant irritant in her marriage, and there was nothing she
could do about it.

Gone was Rosalind’s usual grace and intellect, replaced now by resentment and bitterness as she
said, “I didn’t want to come here, but my father insisted on seeing you. I guess I had to make the
effort.”
Thalassa’s brows knitted slightly, “Why does he want to see me?”
She remembered the car accident that had left Joshua, her father, in a critical condition. She had
been worried sick until the doctors assured her of his safety. Since then, she hadn’t visited him,
partly because she felt out of place.
Rosalind and Matilda had made their disdain for her crystal clear, and with them taking care of
Joshua, her presence would only serve to worsen their animosity towards her.
“Why he wants to see you? How should I know? Just go, and you’ll find out,” Rosalind snapped, her
tone icy.
Thalassa hesitated, aware of Rosalind’s underlying issue with her potentially claiming a stake in the
Whitman family fortune. Visiting Joshua could indeed exacerbate Rosalind’s grievances.
Yet, Joshua was her father. Blood ties weren’t easily ignored, and refusing to see him might hurt
him.
Recalling how, three years ago, Joshua had warmly welcomed her back into his life and even
secured her a chance to care for Lysander, Thalassa’s resolve softened.
In light of Joshua’s past kindness, she couldn’t bring herself to outright ignore him. She still felt a
duty to consider his feelings.”Go ahead, I’ll follow shortly,” Thalassa finally said.
