Chapter 1637
Alaric caught Hertha’s frantic signals and with a cocky grin, quipped, “Hertha, are you having a face spasm? Why the funny faces at me?” Hertha: “..
Is this what a face spasm looks like? I just want you to get lost! You’re the twisted one! Damn it, Alaric, playing dumb with my expressions, huh? Just wait till I get my chance; I’ll show you!
Kimberly pulled Hertha’s hand away, scolding, “Child, I’m not stopping you from dating. I was just asking about your future plans. Why won’t you let me speak?”
Kimberly shot Hertha a glare.
Hertha’s heart raced, nearly leaping out of her chest, scared of her mother mentioning her two kids. Alaric was still in the dark about her having two children. If he found out, he’d surely trace the information back to them, and their secret would be out. She didn’t want to end up like Thalassa, losing her kids without marrying their father.
“Mom, I just thought…we can handle our stuff on our own,” Hertha hedged. Both were tough nuts to crack; she really was in a tight spot.
“If Hertha’s willing, I’d marry her right now, quirks and all. Not just two, but even a hundred wouldn’t scare me off,” Alaric suddenly chimed in, clearly trying to charm Kimberly.
Hertha took a deep breath and shot Alaric a glare. This guy, seriously lacking in tact, didn’t he see her trying to smooth things over with her mom, hoping to bluff their way through? And here he was, playing right into her mom’s hands! If her mom pressed him to marry her, she wondered how he’d wriggle out of that. Ads by PubFuture
Catching Hertha’s glare, Alaric pretended not to notice.
Kimberly corrected, “I wasn’t talking about two quirks. She’s got more than that, I was saying…”

“Ah, my lasagna!” Kimberly looked towards the kitchen, smelled the burn, slapped her thigh, and hurried off to the kitchen. Caught up in the argument, she forgot she was cooking. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
Once Kimberly dashed to the kitchen, Hertha quickly approached Alaric, lowering her voice to a threat, “Just go, or else I’ll…”
“What? Kiss me again?” Alaric raised an eyebrow.
Hertha’s cheeks flamed, “You kissed me first!”
“But you seemed to enjoy it. Marrying me wouldn’t be so bad,” Alaric teased, with a mischievous tone.
Hertha’s heart fluttered; she bit her lip to calm herself, “Alaric, I don’t want to waste words. Just go!”
She dragged Alaric to the door, about to open it, when suddenly the doorbell rang. Someone was outside, pressing the bell.
Hertha froze! It couldn’t be the kids,
could it? Maybe her dad was back from taking the kids out for a play
