Chapter 125
“Who is it?” Naomi asked, turning toward the door.
Instead of responding, the knocking became even more intense than before.
Naomi furrowed her brows. She wondered who would be here so late at night.
She had run a background check on the hotel before checking in. There had been no security incidents at
the hotel or any incidents in the surrounding area.
Naomi picked up her taser and asked, “Is it the owner?”
Upon hearing Naomi’s question, the man outside replied hoarsely, “Naomi, open the door.”
Naomi’s jaw fell. That voice sounded familiar. She had heard it somewhere before.

Naomi held the taser in one hand and wrapped the other around the doorknob. But she didn’t unlock the safety chain.
As the intense knocking sound started again, Naomi opened the door. The next moment, Naomi froze when she saw the tall figure outside.
She stared at the man outside the door and finally asked through the crack in the door, “Why are you here?
He had abruptly hung up the phone when he called her in the evening, and now he appeared before her like this, Naomi was genuinely surprised.
Outside the door, Brendan stuffed his right hand in his pocket and muttered coldly, “Open the door.”
Seeing this, Naomi slowly unlocked the door.
The door swung open. Brendan adjusted his collar and entered the room expressionlessly. After entering, his eyes subconsciously swept around the room.
Naomi didn’t follow him. Seeing Brendan seeming to search for something, she lazily leaned against the door with her taser still in hand.
She huffed. “Are you looking to catch me in the act again?”
Brendan came all the way here because he suspected her of cheating. Naomi couldn’t help but
sympathize with Brendan and reflect on herself.
What had she done to make Brendan not even have this little trust in her?
After all, they had been married for more than two years, and she hadn’t caused any trouble for him while he was constantly involved in scandals. New rumors about him spread every two to three days, and his name was constantly trending.
But this did save Ludwig Corporation on their advertisement fee.
Naomi looked indifferent. Brendan turned around silently and decided not to tell her about Maximus

being in the same town as well.
Otherwise, knowing Naomi, she would find a way to cause trouble for him.
Sensing Brendan’s silent stare, Naomi asked, “Do you need help? I’m quite experienced in this.”
She wondered if Brendan really thought everyone was like him.
Brendan cocked a brow, feeling a bit mocked.
After staring at Naomi, Brendan took off his coat and casually threw it on the bed.
“You seem cozy here. What are you holding?” Brendan asked hoarsely.
Naomi straightened up and walked over. “It’s to defend against you.”
As she spoke, she placed the taser aside and bent down to pick up Brendan’s coat, hanging it on the coat. rack. “What’s wrong with your throat?”
Brendan rolled up his sleeves. “It’s inflamed.”
He smoked more cigarettes than he could count on his way here and didn’t realize how hoarse he
sounded until he was answering Naomi.
“Did you drive here?” Naomi asked.
