Chapter 166: The First and Second Gifts
“Fine, you hate Mabel? I’ll make her leave the country. Is that not enough? Or do you want me to kill her?”
Marcus’s tone grew increasingly deranged.
He reached out to grab her.
But the next moment.
His hand was struck hard by something heavy.
It felt like his bones were about to shatter.
His hand instantly went numb.
The anger on his face was replaced by cold sweat.
The color drained from his face, leaving only a pale white.
He looked in the direction the object had come from.
Suddenly.
He met a pair of sharp, piercing eyes.
How could one describe a gaze that instilled fear with just one look?
It was like stepping into a vortex in the middle of the night.
No edges, no end.
Only endless fear.
It was Mr. Cassius!
Why was he here too?
Marcus didn’t dare continue the stare–down and quickly averted his eyes.
Shawn spoke up directly.
“In front of everyone, you dare lay a hand on a defenseless woman? If she really went back with you, would you beat her to death?”
“Mr. Wilson, remember this: you’re divorced now. If you so much as touch Ms. Kelestine, this won’t be a domestic dispute–it’ll be assault.”
He wore a mischievous smile.
His words seemed casual.
Just trying to stir the pot.
Clearly.
He succeeded.
After hearing this, Marcus’s body trembled.
He wanted to say something.
But his mouth opened and closed without a sound.
He immediately reached out to steady himself on a nearby table.
He was about to collapse.
‘Gem, let’s go.”
Shawn gave Marcus a disdainful look.
Then, when he turned to Gemma, his face lit up with a smile.
Gemma quickly walked over.
Her lawyer, meanwhile, approached Marcus with a slight smile.
“Appealing for custody?”
“No problem. It’s just a bit more time wasted.
“Oh, by the way, representing Ms. Kelestine has been a pleasure. I’ve decided to do it pro bono,”
“After all, some people’s hearts are just too dirty. Ms. Kelestine is truly pitiful.”
Marcus raised his hand to strike him.
The top–tier lawyer simply smiled, waiting for the punch to land on his face.
If he got injured today, it would be considered exceeding expectations.
But fortunately, Marcus had someone sensible by his side who firmly held him back, preventing him from acting out.

Chapter 166: The First and Second Gifts
Marcus went to sign the papers. As he left the courthouse, the reporters didn’t swarm him but instead surrounded Mabel
“You’re saying I’m the other woman?”
“Actually, no. Max and I knew each other earlier, and we even dated.”
“Later, we had a big fight, and in a fit of anger, he married Gemma.”
“I stayed abroad and lived my life. If it weren’t for work, I probably wouldn’t have returned.”
“I came back for my career, but Gemma was overly suspicious.”
“You only saw what she posted online, but have you considered that the way she obtained those things might be illegalt
“And those so–called pieces of evidence were they verified? Were they notarized?”
The reporters exchanged glances.
That actually made sense.
“Ms. Johnson, if you’re not the other woman, why didn’t you clarify online back then?”
Mabel sighed helplessly.
“All of you work in media. You understand the mindset of online spectators better than I do.”
“If I had spoken up, I would’ve been labeled as the other woman trying to defend herself. I would’ve been cyberbullied, and my career would’ve been ruined.”
“I’m an actress. Sometimes, I film scenes with children. I get along well with Ali because I’m good with kids.”
“To say I wanted to steal a child–that’s just absurd.”
The reporters took notes.
Only then did someone notice the dejected Marcus.
They quickly surrounded him.
Mabel carefully supported his arm and noticed his pale complexion.
Her heart sank.
She had anticipated losing the case.
But she hadn’t expected Marcus to react so painfully.
Could it be that he had truly fallen for Gemma?
“Mr. Wilson, how did the case go? Did you win?”
“Are you officially divorced now?”
“Who gets custody of your child?”
Marcus watched the reporters‘ mouths move, but his ears rang, making it impossible to hear what they were saying,
“Max, Max!”
Seeing his condition, Mabel quickly called over a few bodyguards.
With their help, the reporters were swiftly dispersed, and Marcus was taken to the hospital.
After all, Mabel’s goal was to clear her name,
The Ravens were unreliable.
Now that Marcus had helped her deal with the Ravens but didn’t want her to continue her career domestically, she had to rely on herself,
Gemma smiled at the people in front of her.
“Thank you all for witnessing this milestone in my life!”
During the trial, she could only see Mr. Cassius and the others from her seat, not her friends or colleagues.
But in critical moments, they all came to support her.
She was truly happy.
“This is for you.”
Brian magically produced a bouquet of fiery red roses.
“They represent your bright and beautiful future. You must accept them.”
With a trembling heart and hands, Gemma carefully took the bouquet.
The roses had a subtle fragrance, perfect for displaying in the living room.
She’d take them back to the estate.

“Brian, thank you.”
Brian waved it off. “Seeing you break free from the past and truly be yourself is the best thanks I could ask for.”
Gemma laughed. “Alright, I get it. Just don’t forget to help me schedule that meeting with Professor Gresham.”
Brian took out his phone and sent her an invitation.
“This is the second gift I’m giving you today. Professor Gresham can spare about ten minutes for you.”
Gemma looked at the invitation she’d just received. “This isn’t the hospital’s lecture?”
“No, the hospital’s break time was given to the director, so you couldn’t get a slot.”
Gemma nodded in understanding.
“Brian, you’re really… amazing!”
She gave him a thumbs–up. Such a difficult task, and he actually pulled it off.
With skills like that, no wonder he stood out among his peers and became the company’s chairman‘
Not far away.
Shawn nudged Cassius’s arm.
“First flowers, then favors. It’s really touching. Do you think Gem will cry her eyes out and end up having dinner with Dr. Read?”
Cassius’s cool gaze swept over Brian’s profile.
His tone was icy.
“The matter’s settled. Let’s go home.”
Shawn grabbed him, genuinely frustrated.
“Aren’t you going to wait for Gem?”
