Cassius,

“Fine! If you won’t go, I will! I’m bringing Gemma back our home!”
The little guy stood with his hands on his hips, looking like a puffed–up little buffalo.
Gemma quickly held him back..
“You are a good, good kid. You can’t just snatch people off the street”
She lightly poked his puffed–up cheeks,
“I’m just worried Gemma will be bullied.”
Gemma rubbed his little clown nose and reassured him gently. “This is something I need to face, but don’t worry, okay?”
She then pulled out the remaining balloons, shaped them into fun designs, and handed them out for him to share with the
other kids.
With Marcus no longer causing a scene, Noah finished his task of giving out gifts.
He had made friends with the other kids.
Several even apologized for calling him “Little Monster before.
Noah beamed with happiness.
His eyes sparkled like stars.
“Thanks.” Cassius glanced over, his gaze falling on her clown hat.
It had a fluffy rim that looked very soft and touchable.
His fingers twitched slightly but stopped short as he restrained himself
Then, from behind his mask, a sincere voice came. “Towe you one. Gemma shifted her gaze from Noah back to Cassius and replied earnestly “Noah isn’t avoiding school just because he’s seen some inappropriate things.” Cassius’s fingers clenched slightly.
Not far away, Brooke, who had come as backup, overheard the conversation.
He was deeply moved.
“Ms. Kelestine, you are a saint!” For sure, this was a silent shouting on his mind.
One night, Noah had snuck out of the villa while Mr. Cassius was dealing with some people.
Despite Cassius being careful, he hadn’t noticed this.
Noah’s lollipops had fallen to the ground, and he ended up with a fever that lasted five days. Since then, he’d shown a reluctance to go to school.
Although Cassius hadn’t said it outright, Brooke knew the guilt and self–blame were eating him alive.
Seeing Noah happy and playing with other kids today must’ve been an emotional moment for
Cassius
Gemma’s clear, soothing voice continued.
“He’s just a little socially anxious
Both Cassius and Brooke were stunned.
That’s it? Just that simple?
“But today’s clown performance helped him push through. He should be fine with school after this.”
Brooke almost dropped to his knees.
If that were true, Ms. Kelestine would be Mr. Cassius’s savior!
Cassius’s slightly hoarse voice, paired with his deep, dark eyes, lingered on Gemma’s face.
Chapter 61: Gemma’s Big Leap to Mr. Cassi
It seemed like he wanted to say something.
His fingers curled and straightened repeatedly, lightly tapping the armrest.
Gemma suddenly performed a magic trick. She opened her hand in front of him, revealing a pink–wrapped lollipop. “Cassius, want to try? Noah loves it. If you want to be his friend, maybe you could start with knowing his favorites?”
She peeled the wrapper and held it out to him.
Cassius stared at the lollipop for a long moment before finally taking it and putting it in his mouth.
His gaze deepened.
Whatever crossed his mind made his breathing a little uneven, and he quickly looked away
“The candy’s good.”
He murmured after a long silence.
Then, slowly, he extended his hand for a handshake as a gesture of thanks.
His hand was warm.
Gentle even.
But as a doctor, Gemma noticed the tight, taut lines of his arm muscles.
He seemed deeply emotional
It was clear Noah’s progress meant the world to him.
And for her, it felt good to finally repay his kindness.
Brooke pressed his earpiece, hearing something urgent, and immediately approached Cassius to whisper in his ear.
Cassius’s demeanor turned ice–cold in an instant,
He rose without hesitation.
But he still took a moment to politely excuse himself to Gemma. “Apologies, I can’t stay with you.”
Gemma guessed he had something important to handle and quickly offered.
“Don’t worry about it. I can take Noah to my place.”
Cassius paused briefly.
Then, he nodded.
“Thank you.
With that, he left with Brooke.
Outside the kindergarten, Marcus pulled his hand away.
Since Mabel’s return to the country, this was the first time he had been so cold toward her.
Her heart tightened with unease.
“Marcus, don’t be mad. Gemma didn’t mean for you to act rashly. She’s actually looking out for you.
After all, you can’t afford to offend Mr. Cassius. If Gemma wants to climb the ladder, she needs to manage her relationships carefully.”
Marcus sneered “So, today she denies our relationship to climb higher. What’s next? Offering herself to Mr. Cassius?
“Marcus! Watch what you say! What if Mr. Cassius’s people are around?”
Mabel glanced cautiously around.
She relaxed only when she confirmed it was safe.
“Actually, Marcus, I have an idea.
Since Gemma needs this opportunity, why don’t u go along with her and get the divorce papers tomorrow? Once she reaches the top, she’ll definitely come back to remarry u
To Mr. CaTATUS
Plus, once you’re divorced, Mr. Cassius won’t target u anymore, and you can focus on building the Wilson family business.
Marcus, as long as you and Gemma believe it’s a fake divorce, your hearts will stay together.”
Alijah, who had been quietly following, suddenly burst out
“I don’t want a divorce! No divorce! I don’t want Mom and Dad to split up!”
As he cried, tears streamed down his face.
“Ali, don’t worry. It’s not a real divorce. Your mom and dad will still be together,
Then Mabel turned back to Marcus with determination.
“Besides, once the divorce is finalized, Gemma will realize the difference between being your wife and just being a doctor.
Maybe all the issues between you two will disappear.”
Marcus rubbed his temples.
He felt like his head was about to explode.
Just picturing Gemma and Cassius together made huis blood boil,
Rage was bubbling inside him like magma
He couldn’t think straight anymore.
Without filtering his thoughts, he snapped
“There’s no
‘s no such thing as a fake divorce.”
The cruel words Gemma had said replayed in his mind, and the veins on his temple throbbed.
Grinding his teeth, he spat, “If she wants to climb higher, I’ll help her!”
Hearing this, Mabel finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Her efforts weren’t in vain.
After waiting all these years, her moment had come.
“Marcus, this will hurt Gemma.
“The day she left me, she should’ve known this was coming. Ha, just a bumpkin girl–did she really think she’s so desirable?”
“Let’s see if Mr. Cassius’s high branch is worth climbing!”
