Chapter 58 A Heartless Son’s Breakdown–You’re My Mom!
Could it be? Had she snatched the dress from Gemma?
Once, he might’ve found it flattering–two women vying for his attention.
But not today!
Today, it made his blood boil!
For the first time, he felt a trace of resentment toward Mabel.
Mabel noticed his brooding expression and mistook it for his usual aloofness.
She chuckled and leaned closer. “The waiter gave it to me. Come on, don’t play coy. I saw the card you left with it.”
She bent forward deliberately, showing off her cleavage.
“You said if I didn’t dance with you, there’d be consequences.
What kind of consequences, hmmm?”
Her voice dropped into a sweet, playful whisper, almost hypnotic.
But Marcus shoved her away with a sharp motion.
Caught off guard, Mabel stumbled in her high heels and nearly twisted her ankle.
Her eyes reddened with disbelief “Marcus! What’s your problem?”
Marcus opened his mouth to respond but froze as the emcee’s voice echoed through the hall.
“And now, please welcome the Clown Duof
His entire body tensed. He turned to look at the stage.
Mabel, noticing his shift in mood, followed his gaze.
Gemma was already on stage with Noah, holding his hand.
A man wearing a clown mask trailed behind them, carrying a large suitcase like an assistant.
The kids in the audience were instantly captivated, whispering excitedly.
“Is that Noah’s mom?”
“She’s so cool–a clown!”
“Wow, she has a parrot!”
“Is she a magician or something?”
“Look at those exploding streamers! So pretty!”
“She made a balloon bear! I want one!”
“Noah’s so lucky. I want to visit his house and see his mom do
magic”
Alijah, who had been hanging his head in shame, suddenly perked up
He had dreaded this moment, even considering denying she was his mom if anyone asked.
But to his surprise, no one mocked the clown.
In fact, the other kids seemed to love the clown.
When Gemma made a white dove appear, sending it soaring around the room before it landed back on her arm, the kids erupted in cheers, rushing to the stage.
She continued twisting balloons into animal shapes, asking the kids to line up to avoid accidents.
To everyone’s surprise, they obediently formed a neat line, each child bouncing with excitement after getting their
balloon.
“That’s my mom!”
At some point, Alijah had joined the line, proudly announcing to his classmates.
One boy turned to him with a skeptical frown.
“You used to take our toys. Now you’re trying to steal someone else’s mom?”

Alijah, furious, shoved the boy.
“She’s my mom! Noah stole her from me!”
The boy shoved him back, glaring.
“Your mom’s sitting right there. She’s always the one who comes. Do you think I’m dumb?”
Alijah’s face flushed. He shouted in frustration. “That’s not my mom! That’s my aunt!”
The boy blinked, clearly confused. After a moment of thought, his eyes widened.
“So… you’re just dumb, huh?”
Alijah lunged at him, fists flying. “You’re the dumb one!”
“Hmph! If someone tried to take my dad, my mom and I would kick her out together!
But you’re playing with the bad lady. I’m not talking to you anymore!”
The boy ran ahead, grabbed a balloon bear, and stuck out his tongue before darting away.
Alijah couldn’t hold back anymore. He can to the stage, grabbing Gemma’s hand as she handed out a balloon.
“Mom! Tell them! You’re my mom–not that little monster’s!”
Noah’s smile disappeared. His face went pale at the words “little monster.”
That nickname had haunted him in school, making him withdraw even more.
Now that he heard this title again, the smile on Noah’s face disappeared and his face went pale
Gemma immediately noticed Noah’s shift in mood,
She pulled her hand away from Alijah and crouched to hug Noah, comforting lum
Alijah’s eyes reddened with jealousy.
Climbing onto the stage, he grabbed Gemma’s wrist with all his strength.
“Mom, push him away! Tell them–you’re my mom!”
