Chapter 7: Block That Scumbag–Get Out of My Life
“Sorry, the number you’re calling cannot be reached right now,”
Blocked?
The robotic voice on the other end of the phone repeated itself over and over.
It had been three days since he and Gemma divorced.
Marcus clenched his phone so hard his knuckles were white, veins bulging
Three days!
And Gemma had actually stayed calm this whole time!
Welli
FINE!
If she had the guts to do this, then n she could stay gone forever.
Alijah’s crying grew louder beside him.
Marcus was getting really annoyed, so he called the family doctor, then ordered some help from the house staff.
When the doctor arrived, after checking Alijah over, he confirmed the boy only had a few minor cuts and bruises. A little ointment, and he’d be fine.
“He just needs to rest for a day or two, and he’ll be back to normal.”
With the prescription in hand, the doctor breathed a sigh of relief and gave Marcus a quick look.
Marcus seemed… off. Like all the energy had drained out of him, as if someone had just taken a few bones from his body.
“Mr. Wilson, are you okay? Do you need a check–up?” the doctor asked.
Marcus rubbed his forehead. “I’m fine. Can Ali still go to school?
The doctor nodded. “Yes, but no strenuous activities
Marcus immediately said, “Then once you leave, take him to daycare.”
Alijah, who had been listening, stared in disbelief for a moment.
Then, he realized his dad was actually sending him to school while he was still sick, and he broke down into loud sobs, sitting on the floor.
“I don’t want to go! I want to stay home and play!”
Marcus turned to the doctor, his face a mix of frustration and authority. “If you can’t even handle something as simple as this, then don’t bother coming back to the Wilsons‘ home.”
The doctor flinched, quickly scooping up Alijah and trying to calm him.
No matter how much the little boy struggled, he carried him out.
The house immediately grew quiet.
Marcus, still feeling the effects of a hangover, wasn’t exactly feeling great himself. He slouched back on the couch and closed his eyes.
It wasn’t long before there was a knock at the door.
Marcus glanced at the clock–already 10 AM.
A flash of annoyance crossed his face.
Gemma was late.
He decided to let her stew for a bit before letting her in
As for the divorce, she’d better apologize.
Otherwise, he wasn’t going to let it slide.

The knocking got louder, more impatient.
Marcus just lounged there, acting like he couldn’t care less.
Then, his phone rang
He glanced at the screen. Unknown number. The area code matched the local area.
So, Gemma hadn’t blocked him–she’d just changed her number.
He immediately ignored the call, pretending he hadn’t seen it.
The unknown number tried again–three times in a row.
Then, silence.
The knocking stopped, too.
Marcus frowned.
Was Gemma really gone?
Was she done with him for good?
Just then, a new message popped up on his phone.
It was from the cleaning service. An apology text.
It said they’d been unable to reach anyone at the house and would need to reschedule,
So, the knocking and the calls? That was just the cleaning service trying to get in?
Marcus’s anger flared so intensely, he could practically feel sparks coming out of his ears.
He quickly dialed a number.
Not long after, the nanny his mother had arranged for him arrived at the villa.”
In just half an hour, she had tidied up the place and even prepared a meal for him.
Marcus took a few bites, clearly pleased.
“Linda, this is good. The taste is very authentic.”
Linda smiled lightly. “The old madam had me learn the young madam’s recipes since her cooking was so good.”
Marcus nodded, but inside, a cold sneer flashed across his mind.
Gemma refused to come back because she thought her cooking was so good, thinking he couldn’t live without her.
But the old house had all kinds of talents.
Did she really think she was irreplaceable?
It was laughable.
“Linda, pass me the chili sauce.”
Linda rummaged through the kitchen. “There’s no chili sauce, sir. Maybe it’s all used up. I’ll go to the store and
Marcus’s face darkened.
“There’s no chili sauce in the store. That’s something Gemma made herself.”
Although Gemma was an Academy–trained doctor, she was also knowledgeable about nutriology-
Her meals were carefully balanced, combining health and flavor.
The chili sauce, spicy but with medicinal herbs, was something no store could sell.
And, most likely, she hadn’t left behind the recipe because they had divorced shortly after she perfected it.
Suddenly, the meal before him seemed tasteless.
He slammed his fork dowIL.
Linda was confused. “Sir, why aren’t you eating? Siri”

Gemma had a small shadow trailing behind her at the hospital, moving quickly through the corridors.
Noah, though small, never lagged behind and always stayed close.
He even helped out whenever he could
“Dr. Kelestine, hurry! Someone passed out over there!”
Gemma imunediately grabbed Noah’s hand, pulling him along as they rushed to the scene.
While the hospital had strict rules against bringing children in for training, the generosity of Mr. Raven made them look the
other way.
They arrived at the scene where a man was being wheeled in, surrounded by soldiers in military uniforms.
This country had been in constant war lately.
So the hospital was filled with soldiers and battlefield casualties.
The intensity of the work was high, and the urgency of the cases kept everyone on their toes.
But as soon a
as Gemma approached, the soldiers blocked her path.
“Stay back!”
Gemma pointed to her ID badge. “I’m a doctor. I’m here to assist.”
“Who d
do you think you are, trying to touch our boss?”
The man not only ignored her, but he also shoved Gemma aside.
She didn’t expect this, stumbling back and almost losing her balance.
Noah’s face twisted with anger, his little fists shaking at the guard
“How dare you hurt Gemma! I’ll hit you!”
The man sneered. “Who’s this little brat? Get lost!”
With that, he shoved Noah hard, sending the boy crashing to the ground.
Noah winced in pain, nearly on the verge of tears.
But he refused to cry out he had to protect Gemmal
The man looked down at the boy with contempt, a mocking chuckle escaping his lips, as if to laugh at Noah’s audacity.
But the next moment!
The atmosphere changed.
The man felt a cold chill run down his spine, as if he were staring into the eyes of death.
He slowly turned his head, and came face–to–face with a pair of cold, intimidating eyes.
The man was dressed entirely in black, his presence exuding an icy aura–like a warrior who had just emerged from hell
itself.
He was terrifying-
“You pushed him?”
The voice was low, but it carried an undeniable threat that made the soldier’s knees shake with fear.
The soldiers quickly realized who this man was. Their legs trembled uncontrollably.
For years, they hadn’t heard any rumors about Mr. Raven.
They’d assumed he was no longer a threat.
But now, they understood–they had just poked the tiger.
“Mr. Raven, Mr. Raven.
“Take him away. Deal with it.”
Cassius’s face was as cold as ever, and without a second glance, the man who had just been so aggressive was dragged out,

He couldn’t even get a word out
Gemma watched the scene unfold, turning to glance at the man.
