Chapter 100
Simon sent out the notice, and a few employees mentioned they knew some designers. Simon immediately asked them to bring in their designs.
Soon enough, a dozen designers showed up, each one dressed to impress, but, the designs they presented were nothing short of disastrous.
After spending the entire day reviewing these awful submissions, both Andrew and Simon felt like their heads were about to explode from all the junk they’d seen.
The next day, more so–called designers arrived. One of them even owned a somewhat popular Amazon fashion store. Her sales were decent, and her attitude was sky–high. Before even showing her designs, she started making demands–she didn’t just want to sell her designs; she insisted on becoming a senior designer at Coleman Fashion.
Thinking he might have found a lead, Simon excitedly told Andrew about her conditions. Andrew replied, “If she really has talent, I’ll pay her double the market rate.”
Simon negotiated the terms with the influencer–designer, who smugly handed over her design draft.
The moment Simon saw it, he struggled to keep a straight face, thinking, ‘What kind of absurd design is this?‘
It was supposed to be a high–collared dress inspired by traditional clothes, but the collar was overly stiff, the slit was sky- high, and the back was completely exposed–it looked more like risqué lingerie than a dress.
“Mr. Hunt, I spent a whole year perfecting this design. It hasn’t even been released yet. I was planning to make it the centerpiece of my store, but I’m offering it to your company. You’re getting a real bargain,” she boasted.
Simon forced a smile. “We really wouldn’t want to take advantage of you. I think it’s better if you keep it.”
“What do you mean by that? My design is top–tier, and you don’t want it? You people have no taste at all!” she snapped, her tone dripping with arrogance.
Simon replied with a strained smile, “It’s beyond us, really.”
“No wonder your company’s desperate for outside designers. With taste like this, who’d want to work for you? What a joke of a company…” The influencer continued ranting, unleashing a stream of insults.
Simon quickly called security to have her escorted out.
He felt utterly drained. After three days of effort, not only had they failed to find a decent design, but he’d ended up more frustrated than ever.
On the fourth day, Simon dragged himself into Andrew’s office and collapsed onto the sofa, looking completely worn out. “Mr. Coleman, maybe we should just ask Ms. Carlson to come back and have her get Adair to create a new design. These past three days have been a nightmare. The so–called designers out there are just clowns–I’ve never been this exhausted.”
Andrew was silent for a few moments before saying, “In ten minutes, gather all senior and mid–level managers for a meeting.”
Simon hesitated. “Are you planning to brainstorm solutions?”
Andrew replied, “There’s always a way.”
Simon paused for a moment before cautiously adding, “Honestly, if we just let Ms. Carlson return, we wouldn’t have to go through all this trouble. If she can convince Adair to create another design, that would resolve everything.”
Andrew frowned. “What she pulled this time crossed a line. If I let her stay, who knows what she’ll do next. I can’t condone

Simon thought it over and eventually nodded in agreement. “You’re right. But… what if Cathy uses her father…”
Andrew gave Simon a calm look and said flatly, “She only gets one shot.”
