Chapter 83
Simon immediately picked up on the sharpness in Andrew’s tone and quickly responded, “No, it’s nothing like that.”
Trying to salvage the situation, he turned to Alyssa and said seriously, “Ms. Dawson, if you have something to discuss, just say it. Mr. Coleman isn’t an outsider.”
The moment he said that, he realized it sounded like he and Alyssa were somehow close, which might give Andrew the wrong idea. Panicking a little, he quickly added, “What I meant is, Mr. Coleman is one of us.”
Andrew shot him a cold look, making Simon swallow nervously. “I just mean that there’s nothing private between me and
Dawson that would need to be kept secret.”
Alyssa nodded, cleared her throat, and finally said, “I just wanted to ask–does Mr. Coleman have any specific preferences when it comes to coffee?”
Simon blinked, caught off guard. “What?”
Andrew’s lips curved into a faint smile at the question. “If you wanted to know my preferences, you could’ve just asked me directly. Why go out of your way to ask someone else? Isn’t that more of a hassle?”
Alyssa turned to him and got straight to the point. “So, Mr. Coleman, what’s your preference?”
“Hand–ground, freshly brewed, with milk but no sugar,” Andrew replied calmly.
“Understood,” Alyssa nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll leave you both to your work.”
As she left, Andrew watched her walk away, the faint smile still on his lips. Turning back to Simon, he said, “Get that report finalized as soon as possible. I’m heading back to my office.”
“There are still some details about the new product launch that need to be ironed out,” Simon reminded him.
“We’ll deal with it tomorrow,” Andrew said as he walked out the door.
After Andrew left, Simon scratched his head in confusion. “Weren’t we just in a rush? Now suddenly we’re not?”
Back in his office, Andrew sat at his desk, tapping his fingers lightly on the table as he waited for Alyssa to bring the coffee. Alyssa didn’t take long. She quickly made the coffee just as he preferred and brought it over.
When she knocked on Andrew’s office door, every secretary in the area turned to watch her. Sarah, seething, stormed off to the restroom.
In her own office, Cathy stared through the glass as Alyssa, holding the coffee, knocked on Andrew’s door. She wished with all her might that Andrew wasn’t there or wouldn’t let her in.
But her hopes were crushed almost immediately. Within seconds, Alyssa was already pushing open the door and walking inside.
With a snap, Cathy broke the pen she was holding in two.
She fixed her gaze on the office door, counting the seconds, hoping that Alyssa would just drop off the coffee and leave–or better yet, that Andrew would find the coffee unsatisfactory and send her out.
Bugas the seconds ticked by and Alyssa still didn’t come out, Cathy couldn’t sit still any longer. She grabbed a folder from herdesk and marched straight to Andrew’s office.

Chapter 83
She knocked twice, and without waiting for a response, pushed the door open and walked in.

The first thing she did was scan the room, eager to see if there was any inappropriate interaction between Andrew and Alyssa
But Andrew was simply seated at his desk, focused on his computer with a coffee cup in hand, while Alyssa sat on the sofa, surrounded by a pile of documents, busy organizing them.
Cathy’s expression turned icy. She thought, “This Alyssa really knows how to milk the situation. All Mr. Coleman asks for is a cup of coffee, yet here she is, staying behind to sort through files. Is she trying to find an excuse to spend more time with him? What a sly woman.
