Chapter 154
Chapter 154
It wasn’t long before the waiter brought the menu to the duo and announced, “Sir, ma’am, ready to order?”
“I… I. Before Eloise could finish her sentence, Preston interjected, “No need. We’ll leave after our discussion.”
After saying that, Preston gave Hans a look. And Hans promptly handed the waiter a stack of bills.
The waiter was shocked by the genero

sum of money handed to him, especially since no one had dined, it was a first–paying
Seeing the waiter’s bewildered departure, Freya, hiding in a corner, straightened up.

She wondered, ‘What’s going on here?‘
Freya’s mind raced, and she quickly spoke into the walkie–talkie, “Serve them some desserts, on the house. Oh, and add a bottle of red wine!”
She refused to believe they could resist dining with wine on the table.
Soon after, the waiter brought Preston and Eloise two heart–shaped desserts and a bottle of red wine.
The waiter smiled and said, “Sir, ma’am, these are complimentary from the restaurant. Would you like to try them?”
“Thank you,” Eloise replied with a polite smile to the waiter.
Once the waiter had left, Eloise quickly found a topic to engage Preston, saying, “Mr. Tyler, this restaurant is famous for its desserts. Would you like to try some?”
Preston waved and said, “I’m not that into sweets.”

From a distance, Freya listened in, feeling a headache coming on. Preston could kill it with his conversation, no matter how great the environment or romantic the mood was.
Eloise’s smile visibly stiffened.
Preston glanced at the time and said to Hans, “Call Freya.”
Hans nodded. “Yes, Mr. Tyler.”
“Mr. Tyler,” Eloise interjected, “since the negotiation today is just between us, Ms. Dawson’s presence isn’t necessary. If she can’t make it, let’s just move on.”
Preston didn’t reply. And Hans had pulled out his phone to dial Freya.
Seeing Preston ignore her, Eloise’s expression darkened further.
Meanwhile, the ringing from the corner suddenly went off. Although Freya quickly hung up, Preston had sharply caught the sound
He stood up, walked toward the corner, and, in no time, pulled Freya out from her hiding spot. “Ms. Dawson, fond of eavesdropping, are you?”
Freya tried to appear calm as she pocketed her phone, saying, “I arrived early and just got a bit hungry.”
“If you’re hungry, go eat in the dining hall.” With that, Preston dragged Freya by the wrist towards the dining hall.
Preston had been dismissive toward Eloise but turned around to be so intimate with Freya.
Upon seeing that, Eloise’s expression turned even sourer.
Was Freya playing her?
“Sit down.” Preston pushed Freya into a chair, leaving her no room to move.
