Chapter 29
Adeline West
I could feel the rage coursing through my veins as I drove back to my home. My meeting with Laurel and Killian replayed in my mind on an endless loop. The nerve of Laurel to smirk and deny her involvement in the attack and Killian’s stubborn refusal to believe me filled the with fierce determination.
It has been four years, and Killan hasn’t changed at all. He’s still blindly in love with the evil woman. How can he not see her true self? How can someone be so blindly in love?
No, I don’t care about his relationship with her. All I need is to take her pay for what she did. I know people like Laurel need to be put in their places, or else they will attack us again.
I dialed Sebastian’s number. The phone barely rang twice before he answered.
“Adeline? Are you alright?” His concern was evident in his voice
“No, I’m not,” I replied, uying to keep my voice steady. “We need to make Laurel pay for what she did. We need to present the evidence to the elders and the Alpha of her pack. Killian won’t believe us even if we provide the evidence directly, but if we talk in front of the elders, he won’t have a choice.” I suggested
Sebastian was silent for a moment, and I could almost hear him thinking. “You’re right. We need to go through the proper channels. I’ve already caught the man who was ordered by Laurel to attack us. We also have CCTV footage of him attacking our car and proof of Laurel sending money to his account He informed me.
The relief I felt was palpable. “Good. Come to my home with all the evidence. We need to cross–check everything and make sure our case is airtight.” I replied.
“I’m on my way,” he said before hanging up
I drove home, my mind racing with thoughts of the meeting to come. I was determined to see justice served. Laurel had bullied me throughout my time in the Silver Moon Pack as Killian’s wife. I had endured it then, but I would not spare her now that she had crossed the line and hurt my children.
When I arrived home, the sight of Tristan and Bridget playing in the living room brought calmness to my stormy thoughts Mary, who had been looking after them, gave me a sympathetic smile.
“How did it go?” she asked, sensing the tension in my demeanor
“As expected,” I said, forcing a smile. “But we have a plan. Sebastian was on his way with the evidence. We’re going to present it to the pack elders. I told her.
Mary nodded, her expression resolute. “Good. That woman needs to be held accountable.” She said.
Sebastian arrived shortly after, carrying a folder thick with documents and a USB drive. We sat down at the dining table, and he spread out the evidence before us.
“Here’s the man we caught,” he said, showing me a photograph of a scrutly–looking individual. “He’s confessed to being hired by Laurel to carry out the attack. We’ve also got the CCTV footage of him ramming our car and bank statements showing the transfer of money from Laurel’s account to his.” He added.
I scanned through the documents, my anger simmering just beneath the surface. “This is solid. With this, the elders won’t bel able to deny her guilt.” I responded,
Sebastian nodded. “We need to send an official meeting call to Killian Volkov, the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. He has to be present when we present this evidence.” He said.

Chapter 29
“Let’s do it,” I said, my voice firm with determination.
As he typed out the formal call for a meeting. I sat back and took a deep breath. Memories of my time in the Silver Moon Pack as Killian’s wife resurfaced, with Laurel and her friends bullying me at every turn. I had endured it all because I needed to work to compensate for the money that was sent to my father as his company went bankrupt. I believed that I needed to stay calm and survive, thinking that someday Killian would accept me as his mate and his wife.
I spent
more than one year of bullying and abuse there before I got accused of murder, which I didn’t do, and got banished from the pack. But this was different. She had crossed a line by hurting my children. Tristan’s wounds and blood were still flashing in front of my eyes, and all my mind screamed was vengeance. She needed to pay for every drop of blood my son lost. I would do anything to see her face the consequences.
As Sebastian sent the email to the elders and the alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, we waited in tense anticipation. I paced back and forth in the living room, my thoughts a whirlwind of anger and determination. Sebastian remained calm, his eyes never leaving the screen as he monitored for a reply.
“Adeline,” Sebastian called. I turned to him. “What Did they reply?” I asked, glancing at the laptop.
“No.” He shook his head. “Sit down.” He said, almost ordered in his alpha tone.
I was compelled to listen to his alpha command. “I know you are tense and wanted to make her pay, but remember that you need to calm down.” He said. “You need to handle this situation smartly, rather than getting emotional,” he added. “Your one wrong move could spoil everything in front of the elders.”
“I know, Sebastian. I just want my kids to be safe from that evil woman.” I said, running my fingers through my hair
“They’ve replied,” Sebastian said, his voice steady but filled with the same determination I felt. “The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.”
A sense of fierce determination surged through me. This was it–the moment we would bring Laurel to justice. I would make sure she regretted ever laying a hand on my children. Leaving Tristan and Bridget with Mary, I prepared for the meeting.
Sebastian, his beta, Ethan, and one of the pack warriors, Mark, accompanied me. The drive to the Silver Moon Pack was filled with a heavy silence, each of us lost in our thoughts. The closer we got, the more the bitter memories of my stay there resurfaced, I remembered every slight, every sneer, and every moment of pain inflicted by Laurel and her friends at the office. But this time, I wasn’t returning as a victim.
I was coming back for justice,
I was coming back to make Laurel face the consequences.
I was no longer the naive, wolfless girl who she bullied anymore. I am a mother of two kids, fueled by nothing but a burning desire for vengeance against anyone who dares hurt my children
