Chapter 12
Adeline West
I stared at him, shocked and surprised to see him there. He turned to me and had an equally surprised look on his face.
“Adeline West? What are you doing here?” He asked, his tone filled with surprise and disbelief.
Maria quickly stepped in and explained everything. Greta knew someone who helped me create a fake ID, and I managed to enter into the pack. Maria explained to the Alpha that my mate had rejected me, and I feared for the lives of my children. Leaving out the fact I was the Luna of the Silver Moon pack and my mate is Killian Volkov, who I heard from Maria was Sebastian’s rival and enemy, I never thought that the Alpha who hates Killian would be Sebastian Cooper. I remember the expression he had when he dropped me off at the Volkov Tower
They were business rivals and enemies.
Sebastian’s eyes softened as he looked at me. “Of course, Adeline can stay. She’s welcome here.”
Thank you,” I whispered relief flooding through me.
He stepped closer, his voice gentle. “You’re safe here, Adeline. We’ll take good care of you.” He said, his eyes looking into
mine.
As we left his office, I felt a glimmer of hope, Days turned into weeks, and I slowly settled into my new life at the Crystal Moon Pack. I found a job in a local cosmetic store. It’s not much, but just enough for me to keep myself distracted from my sadness, Maria was like a mother to me, always there with a comforting word or a helping hand. And Sebastian… he was kind, always checking on me and making sure I had everything I needed.
I started to feel like I belonged in the Crystal Moon Pack. The people of this pack are friendly and welcoming, unlike the Silver Moon Pack.
I was in the store, arranging some new products on the shelves. Charlie, the owner of the store, walked over with a warm smile, “How are you feeling today, Adeline?”
I smiled back, stroking my belly. T’m doing well, Charlie. Thank you.” I replied.

“Good to hear,” she said, her eyes twinkling with kindness. “You’re doing a great job here. The customers love you,” she added.
Thank you,” I replied, feeling a warmth in my heart. “It means a lot to me
Despite the lingering pain of my past and Killian’s rejection, I focused on my new life. It is always nice to have calls from Eveline, the kind doctor from the Silver Moon Pack. She kept in touch, calling me regularly to check on my pregnancy. She had quickly become a friend, and I was grateful for her support and understanding.
As I was taking a break, my phone rang.
“Hello, Eveline,” I greeted her, leaning back in my chair.
“Adeline! How are you feeling today?” She asked, her voice warn and caring.
“I’m doing well” Treplied. “Following your instructions to the letter.” I added it with a smile.
“Good to hear,” she said. “Remember to stay hydrated and take your vitamins. And make sure you’re eating enough iron–rich foods. She reminded me, “And don’t forget to rest. Your body needs it,” she added.
“I will, Eveline.” I said.

“Good,” Eveline said. “And remember, if you ever need anything. I’m just a phone call away” She added,

“I know,” I said, feeling a lump in my throat. “Thank you for everything. You’ve been such a great friend,” I said, my voice filled with gratitude.
She chuckled. “I’m just doing my job. And remember, your secret is safe with me. She said,
“Thank you. It means a lot,” I replied, feeling a bit of the weight lifted from my shoulders.
“Take care of yourself, Adeline. And those little ones. She said,
“I will, I promised, hanging up the phone.
Later, after a busy shift at the store, Charlie and I walked to a nearby cafe. The warm, inviting aroma of coffee filled the air as we sat down with our drinks.
“It’s been two months since you came here and started working in the store and never said anything other than your name. So, tell me about yourself, Adeline, Charlie said, her eyes curious and kind. “What’s your story?
I took a deep breath, choosing my words carefully. “I came from a difficult situation. My mate… he rejected me and the pack I was in; it wasn’t a good fit for me. But I’m trying to move forward and build a better life here.”
Charlie nodded, her expression understanding. “Well, I’m glad you found your way here. You’re strong, Adeline. I can see
that
“Thank you,” I said, feeling a surge of gratitude. “I just want to give my children a good life.” I added, placing a hand on my belly.
“And you will, Charlie assured me. “You’re doing everything right. She added with a smile on her lips.
As we chatted, I felt so normal and comfortable, which I hadn’t felt in a long time. The people here genuinely cared, and it made all the difference..
Later that evening, I returned to Maria’s home, where she was waiting with a warm smile. “How was your day, dear?” She asked.
“It was good,” I replied, smiling back. “Charlie and I had coffee. She’s really kind.” I added.
Maria nodded, her eyes twinkling. “I’m glad to hear that. You need good people around you.” She said,
As I settled into bed, I thought about how far I had come. The Crystal Moon Pack was becoming my sanctuary, a place where I could heal and rebuild my life.
1 placed my
hand on my growing belly, feeling peace settling over me. “We’ll be okay,” I whispered to my unborn children. “We’re going to make it.” 1 said with a smile on my lips.
The days continued to pass, each one bringing new challenges and small victories into my life. I embraced this new life–the one without any bullies or any kind of abuse. I kept finding strength in the support of Charlie, Maria, and Eveline.
I woke up early in the morning and as I was getting ready for work, Maria knocked on my door. “Adeline, there’s someone here to see you.
I frowned, curiosity piqued. “Who is it?”
She smiled mysteriously. “Come and see
I followed her to the living room, where Sebastian stood, looking as handsome and composed as ever.

“Sebastian?” I asked, surprised. “What are you doing here?”
He smiled warmly. “I heard you were settling in well and wanted to check on you. How are you feeling?”
I smiled back, feeling a flutter of happiness. “Tm doing much bener,” I said. “Thanks to Maria and everyone here.”
“That’s good to hear,” he said, his eyes softening. “You look… happy.” He added.
“I am.” I admitted. “This place has been a blessing”
He nodded, his gaze lingering on my growing belly. “And how are the little ones?” He asked.
“They’re doing well, I said, placing a hand over my belly. “The doctor says everything is progressing as it should.”
“That’s great news,” Sebastian said, his relief evident. “If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.” He added.
“Thank you, Sebastian, I said, feeling a rush of gratitude. “You’ve been very kind.”
He smiled with a twinkle in his eye. “We take care of our own here, Adeline. Remember that.”
As he left, I couldn’t help but feel some kind of connection forming between us. Maybe it was just friendship, or maybe it was something more. I don’t know. But whatever it was, it gave me hope for the future.
Days turned into weeks, and I found myself thriving in the Crystal Moon Pack. The kindness of people like Charlie, Maria, and Sebastian made all the difference. Though the pain of my past still lingered, it no longer controlled me. I had a new life,
, and a new family. And for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to b
a new purpose,
