Chapter 2
Adeline West
As the hours passed, the scenery outside dramatically changed from the familiar country of my Stado Pack so the enormous, modern side of the Silver Moon Park. By the time we arrived, it was already night, taking the city in a Blanket
humble. of darkness that was pierced by the bright lights and bustling energy of city life. The complete oppose of my boble. countryside home was overwhelming Skyscrapers towered overhead, their glass windows reflecting the ginering lights of the city. This place was alive, throbbing with a relentless pulse that echoed in my chest
Killian’s estate was even more imposing. It stood at the heart of the city. and power. It shows his dominance–a fortress fit for a king
rand and modern structure that exuded
As we pulled up at the entrance, a group of servants waited, dressed in similar clothes, their demeanor polite. They moved with trained efficiency, each gesture reflecting the order and perfection that surrounded this area. One of them took a step forward, bowed slightly, and approached me.
“Welcome, Miss,” she said, her voice smooth and formal. “I am here to show you to your room
I was too stunned to respond to her politeness. No one talked to me in such a manner. Hesitatingly, I followed her through the grand halls of the estate. I tried to lower my head and follow her, but it was impossible because this mansion was so beautiful inside

It felt more like a museum than a home, with each room a showcase of wealth and power rather than comfort and wan
Finally, we arrived at my room. The servant opened the door, revealing a spacious bedroom. This will be your room,” the servant said, her tone respectful. “If you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask”
I nodded. My voice caught in my throat. The door closed behind her, leaving me alone in the room. I wandered to the window, looking out at the city that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was beautiful in its own way, but it felt
As I stood there, the reality of my situation settled over me like a heavy cloak. I was far from home, in a place where I knew no one, married to a man who was a complete stranger. The only information I had about him came from the stories 1 heard about him and his pack. Remembering them sent a shiver down my spine. The Blood Moon pack is known for power and control. People say that whatever happens within the pack stays there. I heard that the pack was built on dead bodies. and the pack members were known to be cruel towards outsiders. I heard stories of Killian killing his own pack members who defied him. Thinking about it, I couldn’t stop myself from praying to the moon goddess
Please, Moon Goddess, Help me.
I stood in front of the huge mirror in my room. I stared at my reflection, trying to recognize the girl looking back at me. My skin was creamy, with dark waves of my long hair framing my face. Light green eyes, the color of fresh spring leaves stared back at me with a mix of uncertainty and fear. My full, defined eyebrows gave my face a touch of fierceness an echo of the resilience I clung to. My lips were full, their natural curve hinting at a softness I rarely felt anymore.
My father’s words kept ringing in my ears: “Do your duty; remember, you are saving our family
A bitter smile tugged at my lips. Duty. Sacrifice. These words have become the foundation of my life. The girl in the mirror appeared to be a stranger, her features both familiar and distant the weight of her new reality crushing against her shoulders.
I turned away from the mirror, feeling the pressure of the moment bearing down on me. My father’s betrayal, the pain of being sold off like something unworthy, and the uncertainty of what awaited me in this vast estate all swirled within one, threatening to overwhelm.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. The servant from earlier, a middle–aged woman with kind yet tired eyes, stepped
inside.

“Miss,” she said softly, “Alpha Killian has requested your presence
My heart skipped a beat, anxiety tightening its grip around my chest. This was it–the moment I would meet the man I was bound to by contract, the ruthless Alpha King whose reputation preceded him.
I took a deep breath, trying my best to steady my nerves. With one last glance at the girl in the mirror, I turned to follow the servant. Each step I took felt so heavy. The corridors seemed endless, each one more lavish than the last. My mind raced with questions and fears, but I forced myself to stay composed
Finally, we arrived at a set of grand double doors. The servant knocked lightly before pushing them open, revealing a spacious, dimly lit office. My eyes searched for him, scanning the dimly lit room. The shadows seemned to cling to every corner, but then he emerged from the darkness as if he owned the shadows themselves.
The air in the room thickened the moment he stepped out of the shadows. His presence was like a sudden bolt of lightning in the dimly lit room. His gray, hunter–like eyes, piercing and intense, seemed to bore into my very soul, sending a shiver down my spine. I blinked in surprise, my heart racing in my chest as I struggled to process the sight before me
The aura he carried was terrifying–a reminder of the power he wielded and the fear he instilled in others. His height was towering over me, probably near six feet five inches, while I was ve feet seven inches.

He was breathtaking, unlike anyone I had ever seen before. Every inch of him exuded an undeniable magnetism that left me in a gate of shock. His black button–down shirt hugged his broad frame, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, which had tattoos snaking their way from his chest to his left wrist.
His dark hair, neatly pulled back, cascaded in sleek strands, with a few locks falling across his right eye, which gleamed a deep, rich brown. His features were strikingly handsome, with full, pink lips that promised both sweetness and danger, a Straight Roman nose, and fair skin. A stubble beard covered his jawline, which made his jawline look even sharper, lending an air of rugged masculinity to his already striking features.
I couldn’t tear my gaze away from him, captivated by the sheer allure of his presence. He was like a figure from a dream, too perfect to be real, yet undeniably tangible before me. At that moment, I felt as if time had stopped. I could feel my ears burning at how attractive he was.
As I stood there in a daze, unable to tear my eyes away from his presence, he spoke, his voice rough and deep, commanding my attention. “Please, have a seat,” he said, gesturing to a chair across the desk.
I obeyed, sinking into the chair while he leaned against his desk while folding his arms over his chest and crossing his long, legs.
“I bathe this marriage,” he confessed, his tone heavy with disdain. I only agreed to it because of my grandfather.” His confession took me aback, the weight of his words sinking in. So, he felt trapped in this arrangement just as much as I did. But before I could respond, he turned his gaze on me, his eyes searching mine with sharp intensity.
“You and your family have something to do with this marriage, he accused, his voice laced with accusation. “But let me make one thing clear: I have no interest in making you my wife, let alone the Lama of my pack.”
“I didn’t-“I tried to speak in my defense, but he cut me off.
“Did I say that you could speak?” he said, his tone hard. I swallowed hard and stayed quiet.
“Did you
read all the terms of the contract?” he asked.
I hesitated, the memory of the contract and my rushed signature flooding back to me. With a heavy heart, I shook my head, unable to meet his gaze.
didn’t even bother to read the contract,” he sneered. “You were just eager to marry me, weren’t you? To become the So, you queen and enjoy my money.”
His words stung. igniting a fire of wrath within me. “No,” 1 protested, my voice trembling with emotion. “That’s not true. I

didn’t-
But he silenced me with a sharp gesture, his eyes flashing with hatred. “Save your excuses,” he spat. “My grandfather may have asked me to marry you, but let me make this crystal clear–this is not a real marriage
He pulled the drawer and grabbed the contract from it “Read it he ordered, pushing it in my way
As I opened it, he began to point out the terms. “You are not allowed to call yourself Luna outside these walls,” he said, his voice cold and unforgiving. You will not use my last name, nor will you act as my wife in public. You will only act as my wife in front of my grandfather and my parents, nothing more,” be continued, his voice filled with venom. “You will not enjoy my wealth. You will work and compensate for the money I spent to help with your family’s debts.”
The list continued, “You are not allowed to sit with me, eat with me, or share the air I breathe. His terms made me realize that I had no say in this marriage or whatever it was, and all I needed to do was stay away from him. So, I just nodded in
life with my agreement because I was more than happy to stay away from him. All my life, I only dreamed of sharing my mate, not a complete stranger who hates me.
He continued, “I will not mark you or touch you,” he declared, his voice devoid of any warmth. “You will stay in the room you were given and never set foot in mine. I will never take you to bed or make love to you.”
His words sent a wave of relief through my system.
He won’t mark me or touch me without
my
permission!
Thank Goddess!!
I don’t have to crush the hopes of finding my mate and spending my life with him. I was happy. I shut my eyes. “Thank you,
his anger Moon Goddess.” I whispered. But as the words left my lips, I felt his gaze bore into me with a burning intensity, clear even without opening my eyes.
When I dared to meet his gaze once more, I found him glaring at me with barely concealed fury, “Lastly, you are not allowed to leave this mansion without my permission, and no one must know about these terms and conditions,” he hissed,! his voice a low, menacing growl that sent a shiver down my spine.
I nodded silently, looking away from him. “These are the rules you should follow, and breaking one means you have broken them all, and I will not tolerate it. You will be punished severely if you do so,” he said.
I nodded again.
But just as I thought the conversation was over, he dropped another bombshell. “From tomorrow onwards, you will work in my company,” he declared, his tone leaving room for argument David will take you there.”
