Chapter 1352
A month had passed and Thalassa’s spirits had improved significantly.
On this day, she was in the vegetable farm planting with her aunt Astrid.
A red Volkswagen pulled into their driveway.
It was the first time in a month that a car had entered their property.
Thalassa was deep in the task of sowing seeds and didn’t notice the arrival.
Astrid, standing with a better view, saw the red car driving into their yard and nudged Thalassa’s arm, saying, “Thalassa, we’ve got guests. I hope it’s not some trouble?”
Hearing Astrid’s worry about trouble, Thalassa’s heart tensed. She quickly looked up towards the yard and saw the red Volkswagen coming to a stop.
She knew this car all too well.
Her expression changed dramatically as she dropped her farming tools and raced excitedly toward the car.
Startled by Thalassa’s reaction, Astrid called out anxio “Thalassa, be careful…”
A month ago, a confrontation had erupted when a woman named Susan came looking for Thalassa, and Lysander showed up too. The memory of that intense encounter still sent shivers down Astrid’s spine.
Thalassa’s legs carried her swiftly toward the vehicle. At that moment, the car door opened, and out stepped Hertha Kensington, removing her sunglasses and instantly spotting Thalassa sprinting towards her.
Hertha smiled, opening her arms wide, and began running towards Thalassa as well.
They met halfway and embraced happily.
“Thalassa, I’ve missed you so much!”
“Me too. So nice to see you, Hertha!”
Both were radiant with the joy of reunion.
Astrid, initially worried that someone had come to cause Thalassa trouble, was relieved to see Thalassa hugging the woman, recognizing her as Hertha.
Astrid walked out of the farm, smiling, and called out to Hertha and Thalassa, “Come on in. Let’s not leave our guest standing.”
Thalassa, snapping back to reality, released Hertha and took her by the hand, leading her towards the house. “Our homegrown veggies are so much more delicious, much better than what you’d find in the big city. You must try them.”

Thalassa could always be her most authentic self around Hertha.
“Yeah, I love homegrown produce the most! City veggies are all pesticides and additives, nothing beats your natural home farming.”
Hertha’s hand gripped Thalassa’s, her laughter bright and cheerful.
Once inside, Thalassa ushered Hertha to sit on the sofa and brought her some coffee.
Hertha, feeling at home from her previous visit with Evelyn and the kids, knew Thalassa lived in a grand villa. But as she scanned the house, she noticed it felt eerily quiet and asked with concern, “Thalassa, where are the four kids?”
Had Lysander taken them to live with him?
“They’re at the local kindergarten now,” Thalassa explained. “Just down the road in our village.”
“In the village kindergarten? But your kids are each a genius in their own right, what can they learn there?” Hertha asked in surprise.
Simple arithmetic and basic literacy might be child’s play for Thalassa’s brood, who likely found the curriculum boring.
Thalassa responded, “But it gives them a chance to socialize with other kids and teachers every day.”
Even though the village kindergarten taught basic lessons, unlike the advanced curriculum of Starhaven International Kindergarten, it had its benefits.
“That’s true,” Hertha nodded, her face softening. “As long as you and the children are together, that’s what matters.”
Hertha’s expression then turned somber, tinged with guilt. “Thalassa, I’m sorry. I didn’t know about Evelyn’s passing until it was too late. I was so caught up in my own troubl at that time, so I couldn’t make it to her funeral
