After breakfast, Alyssa didn’t feel right just sitting there while Myrna did all the cleaning. She had been a nanny for Sean’s mother and sister for several years and knew how much it took to make breakfast to do the dishes. So, she joined Myrna, carrying the dishes to the kitchen.
Myrna quickly stopped her. “Just leave it to me. I can handle it myself.
“No worries. It’ll go faster with my help. I’m used to doing these things at home. If you don’t let me, I’ll feel bad having your breakfast in the future,” Alyssa said.
Upon hearing this, Myrna didn’t dissuade her further.
Together, they carried the dishes into the kitchen and Alyssa began washing them skillfully, adding detergent as she went.
Seeing her handle the chores so adeptly, Myrna nodded slightly then quickly took out her phone and sent Celine a WhatsApp message: [Madam, I’ve seen her in person. She’s very pretty and well–behaved and even helped me clean the kitchen. But she’s a bit thin, probably not good for childbearing
Celine: [Oh dear, I noticed it too in last night’s video. Myrna, make
sure you
take good care of her.]
Myrna: [Of course, madam. I’ll keep changing the dishes to ensure she gets all the nutrients.]
Finishing, Myrna quietly pocketed her phone and went to clean the steamer.
The two were very harmonious in the kitchen. Myrna was concerned that Andrew might have left a negative impression on Alyssa, so she stepped in to explain on his behalf, “Ms. Dawson, please don’t blame Andrew. His parents were always busy with work when he was little, so he grew up with his grandparents. You know how it is with grandparents, they spoil him rot. He doesn’t have much concept of modesty. But he’s not a bad person. Teach him slowly, and he’ll surely understand.”
Hearing this, Alyssa thought to herself, ‘So he’s a left–behind child, no wonder he’s so peculiar and sharp–tongued. But, I don’t have time to teach him.‘
“I wasn’t blaming him,” she said with a smile, her hands not stopping as she cleaned the last bowl.
Suddenly, Andrew said to Myrna at the kitchen door, “Myrna, I’m going to the company.”
“Alright, drive safe,” Myrna reminded him.
“Got it.” Andrew nodded and turned to leave.

Alyssa had to report to Coleman Fashion today, a place she rarely visited before. She wasn’t too familiar with the bus and subway routes and wasn’t sure if it would be easy to get a taxi. Andrew had specifically emphasized yesterday that she should not be late today, and given his penchant for nitpicking, he had harped on about it for ages when she was merely twelve minutes late for their certificate pickup yesterday.
So, she decided to hitch a ride with him to the company today. He couldn’t possibly accuse me of being late then, could he?‘
With this thought, she hurried out and called, “Mr. Coleman, could I possibly take your car? I’ll pay for the gas.”
Andrew raised an eyebrow at her, asking, “Are you sure?”
“Mm–hmm.” Alyssa nodded.
“Hurry up then.”
“Okay.” Alyssa rushed back in, grabbed her bag, and quickly ran out.

Andrew was already in the ear, his fingers tapping on the steering wheel as he waited for her.
Alyssa quickly got in, not forgetting to buckle her seatbelt to avoid being called “having a short circuit in her brain again.”
Andrew started the car, slowly driving out of the neighborhood,
