Chapter 8
There was nothing surprising about it, Silas had expected this to happen and he had made a preparation for this. He was not going to back down, let alone to fold and let Kenan got what he didn’t deserve.
“Prepare everything,” Silas said, as he handed over the report that alpha Sam had given to him. He would use this for good.
“The supreme alpha asked to see you in private in three days. You need to fly out of the country to see him ahead of time before the trial.” Archie, the beta informed his alpha about this.
Silas didn’t have a problem to leave the pack, but his main issue was to leave Cielle behind. He didn’t feel good to not bring her along, but her current condition making it difficult for her to come with him.
“How should I answer him?” Archie asked.
“I will let you know the answer tomorrow. I am going to take some rest,” Silas said, as he turned and went into his bedroom. He wanted to stay with Cielle all the time and didn’t want to be bothered.
But of course, this matter couldn’t be postponed, because alpha Kenan would try to get his hand on Cielle. If worse came to worse, Silas didn’t mind to get rid of that man completely, so he wouldn’t be able to torture Cielle anymore.
“You have worked so hard,” Meda said, as she entered the study room with a glass of tonic. She was worried about her son’s condition, thus she asked the healer of the pack to make this, so Kenan would heal quickly.
The attack from the lycan was very brutal. Thankfully, Ensley managed to stop him right in time before that monster could kill her precious son.
“Leave me alone, mother,” Kenan said, he was busy to prepare his case against Silas in front of the supreme alpha. He was going to get his mate back. He was going to get his Cielle back, despite everything that had happened, she was still his mate and she belonged to him.
It was the worse crime for a shifter to take someone else’s mate and Silas could be given a death punishment for his action, coupled with the fact that he brought so many warriors to attack his pack.
“Kenan, please…” Meda put down the glass on the table and approached her son. “You have been ignoring Ensley ever since you returned from the hospital. She really felt bad for what happened the other day. You know that she wouldn’t have done it on purpose.”
Meda kept insisting that Ensley broke the bottle of the antidote not on purpose. She was a kind and gentle girl, there was no way she had such intention.
“Kenan, you have punished her enough, why don’t you go and talk to her for a while? She has been crying, she didn’t even dare to approach you because you scared her when you raised your voice on her.”
Kenan looked aloof, he didn’t seem to care what happened to Ensley. He kept tidying up all the things that he would take to the trial.
He was going to crush Silas and get him the highest punishment
“Kenan!” Finally, Meda had enough with it. “I didn’t raise you this way!”
Kenan lifted his head and met his mother’s eyes for the first time. The coldness in his eyes was very apparent, as his voice was so rigid. “Cielle kept saying that she didn’t do it. She kept saying that she was set up, now I wonder if there is someone, who didn’t like her, actually did this to get rid of her.”
Kenan had been thinking about this for a while. He regretted to kill that man right away when he should have asked more

question about what actually happened. It should be that man, who was being tortured instead of his Cielle.
More so, it was not in her character to act like that. There was no reason for her to betray him.

Kenan wanted to believe that, but it would leave him with the possibility that his mother was capable of creating such vile schemes against his mate.
Right now, Kenan only wanted his Cielle back and he would do everything to get her. He wanted to forget everything and start anew with her.
This time, he would pretend that nothing of that happened. He would take Cielle’s words and get along with that.
He only wanted them to move on.
“How could you say that?!” Meda was furious with the accusation. “Are you trying to accuse me? Your own mother?”
“I didn’t say that, mother.”
“You saw it yourself that she was with that man! How could you be so blind?”
Kenan said nothing and only cleared up his table and then left the room. He didn’t even drink the tonic that was prepared
for him.
“Kenan!” Meda screamed his name, but for the first time in life, he didn’t even turn around to console his mother. He didn’t listen to her.
However, to his annoyance, after his mother, he had to face with Ensley herself as well. She had been standing at the corridor, as if she was there to ambush him, if Meda failed to do it.
“Kenan,” Ensley called his name with her trembling voice, she tugged at his sleeve, her eyes teared up, but it didn’t move Kenan at all.
He had seen his mate cried so much and was in so much pain, but he stilled his heart, because he thought that was the best,/ therefore, the sight of Ensley didn’t bother him.
“Kenan, are you still mad at me? If you are mad at me, please, be angry with me, but don’t punish your mother like this.”
“I am not mad at you, but I don’t want to see you.” Kenan was very blunt with it.
“For how long?”
