Chapter 1842Alaric was at a loss, unable to discern whether Georgia truly cared for their child or was utterly
indifferent to the child’s safety. On one hand, she did give birth to the child and raised him. But on
the other, when the child was injured, instead of rushing him to the hospital, she called Alaric,
forcing him to show up. The bump on the child’s forehead seemed of no concern to her, as she
hadn’t yet taken him to get it looked after.

If it were Hertha’s child, she would’ve overcome any obstacle, setting aside all disputes, to first
ensure the child was seen by a doctor, finding peace only when certain the child was alright. Now a
father himself, Alaric, though not having spent much time with Julian and Helena, felt a profound
love for them. Should Julian or Helena be injured, he’d be equally anxious. He would put aside all
conflicts, focusing on treating the child’s injury, rather than dwelling on the grievances between
adults.
But Georgia? Her first reaction to the child’s injury wasn’t concern but to blame Hertha, using the
incident to force him into appearing. In Georgia’s world, she always came first. No one else could
claim the primary spot in her heart, not even her own child, whose well-being didn’t seem as crucial
as the issues she wanted to deal with. This was the fundamental difference between Georgia and
Hertha. Georgia, to an extreme, cared only for her desires, oblivious to the feelings of others.
Hertha, appearing carefree and light-hearted, genuinely cared for those important to her, especially
her children, whom she considered paramount.

Alaric’s affection for Hertha might very well stem from her innate kindness, a quality that Georgia
lacked significantly. Unfortunately, Georgia would never understand why she fell short. Suppressing
his disdain for Georgia, Alaric said, “What’s the point of arguing now? Let’s just take the child to the
hospital.” With that, Alaric turned and walked away.
Georgia, in a panic, took a few steps forward, “Alaric, what are you trying to say?” Alaric, nearly
speechless with frustration, turned and said, “Let’s go, what are you waiting for?” He shot GeorgiaThis belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.an irritated look before walking off quickly.
Georgia finally got the hint; he wanted her to follow him to the hospital! He intended to accompany
the child himself! Realizing this, the anger in Georgia’s eyes was quickly replaced with joy, and she
hurried after Alaric, clutching the child tighter and whispering, “Daddy’s taking you to the hospital
now, sweetie. You’ll feel better soon.”
Alaric, leading the way, heard what Georgia said to the child and couldn’t help but find it ironic. He
was taking the child to the hospital, and that was supposed to make everything better? It was
probably just Georgia convincing herself.
Luckily, there was a hospital not far from the mall. Alaric helped with the check-in at the emergency
department, where after a brief examination and a few questions, the doctor assured them it was
nothing serious, just some superficial bruising, and advised care at home. Hearing the doctor’s
reassurance, Alaric felt a wave of relief wash over him.
