Chapter 175
Sitting I wait for Calix to return. We have things to deal with today. I see Marcello walking towards me while on the phone. He doesn’t look happy.
“Now what?” Why do I feel something bad has happened?
“She bolted. Got out in the middle of traffic and ran.”
I want to laugh but I know I caused it.
“What do you want us to do Demitri?” Marcello questions, but I don’t
know.
“Keep an eye out for her. No one touches her though. If we don’t find her soon. I will contact Dean and lie.” I can’t let her get in shit for my
words.
“Lie? What say she is here, and throw extra money his way?” Marcello doesn’t look pleased. “Just get back Calix, I will put a notice out for people to watch out for her.” Marcello hangs up and looks at me.
“I will say the car broke down and she said she would walk.” I shrug my shoulders.
“Demitri she is basically fucking naked, you just had to start shit
right!” Marcello sits down looking pissed. We don’t talk, I need to ask Calix what happened then I know why she ran. Five minutes pass by and he walks in.
“You fucked up.”
I groan hearing his words.
“So he said, now explain.” Something else must have been said for her
to run.
“I said you were wrong for how you acted but some of the things you said were true. She called herself a mutt and I said she knows that is bullshit. Then she said she needed to fight and bolted, took the five thousand with her.”
“So she is trying to escape. Let her.” If she wants to then leave her to it.
“Demitri you’re a dick.”
I laugh at Calix’s words.
“She won’t get out of the city, you know full well she won’t. What is wrong with you?” He looks at me annoyed.
“Want to blame someone, blame that idiot.” I point at Marcello. I brought her here to recharge, to relax. Then he just goes and pushes her in the fucking room while I am fucking Rosalie! She needs to stay away so let her do what she wants.”
“You can’t do that, you’re responsible for her.”
I laugh at Marcello.
“No I’m not, Dean is.”
“You brought her here, you brought her into our lives. You were the one who wanted to help her. You fucked up last night, and when Dean finds out she is getting punished for that.”
“She had nothing to do with it.” He can’t punish her.
Chapter 175
“Come on Demitri! You just got him blocked from Hotstep. He knows it will be her, so she gets punished for it. You acted without thinking, where is he going to send her now to make money?” Marcello questions.
I hadn’t thought. I just didn’t want her becoming so exhausted again, I didn’t want Dean taking every penny, and I know I fucked up.
“How about this.” I turn hearing Calix and look at him waiting. “You continue to pretend you don’t like her, but accept you caused this shit, and find a real way to keep her safe.”
“I don’t like her.” Even as I say the words my mind is screaming I do. How, how the hell did I fall for her?
“As I said, continue to pretend, but figure this out. A few people have seen her walking, she is actually walking towards Dean’s so maybe contact him using the cover story she was walking as the car broke. Whatever you want to use Demitri but get him to go and pick her up before she freezes.” Calix suggests and I nod in agreement.
“Or we get her.” Marcello states.
Turning I face him. “No, what part of I don’t want her near me do you not understand?” She can’t come here, she can’t come near me.
“Had that been anyone else you wouldn’t have given a shit that they saw you with Rosalie. Actually, you would have enjoyed knowing they watched, you like her, and now you’re going to punish her for it?”
“I’m not doing shit, other than messaging Dean saying where she is.” I walk out not wanting to listen to them anymore. Calling the club I am given Dean’s number. I explain there is an issue and she offered to walk I just hope he doesn’t blame her for the club banning them.
Chapter 175
Sitting down we don’t talk, except every now and then when one of
them gets an update. I’m waiting to see if Dean messages saying he has
her.
“Well, shit.” I turn hearing Calix, “She got balls, I can say that, or maybe a death wish?” He looks amused but then sickened.
“What?” Me and Marcello say together.
“Watch the screen, someone took a video. Your little birdie Demitri.”
He smirks at me, and I ignore his words. Sitting I watch the video. Dean calling her. What is the issue, I don’t see it. I watch as she takes a lighter from a guy, my eyes widen as I watch the money burn.
“Well fuck.” That I didn’t expect, my eyes stay fixed on the screen, before closing, I can’t watch that.
“You caused it, and won’t watch it?” Marcello questions.
“I didn’t cause that, she did burning the money.”
“If he is that pissed Demitri, imagine how bad he will be when he hears. he is banned, have you sorted it?”
All I can do is shake my head.
“He already left the message, she will be fine.” I need to distance myself, so from now on no more talking about Daisy.
“I’m gonna get some work done.” Standing I walk away, not arguing with them, or giving them a chance to argue with me. Walking into the office I sit and work, hours passing before I hear the door open.
“We need to talk “I groan and turn to look at them.
Chapter 175
“I don’t care. She isn’t my problem, Dean picked her up, leave them to it, he will find it hard to make money from selling her now unless it is in person.”
“Nice argument, but we mean Rosalic. What is your plan there?”
“No change. Daisy is gone and I won’t see her again. So don’t worry. you won’t lose Rosalie.”
I watch as Marcello leaves, Calix sitting down and looking at me.
“What Calix?” I’m trying to get work done.
“Just wondering how and when you became so fucking heartless. I get it though, you let her in you get hurt because you know you can’t keep her.” He stands and walks out, well at least he didn’t argue with me.
Laughing I turn back to the laptop screen, my mind now on Daisy, and I do hope she is fine. That video was amazing, I felt proud, and happy that she stood up and burnt the money, but then seeing them drag her and throw her in the boot was sickening. I have the power to stop it, yet I can’t.
I can’t go there and I can’t start shit to save her either.
