Chapter 1659Three days passed, and Thalassa received an invitation from a professor at Starhaven College to
attend the graduation gala. She had just completed her master’s in Jewelry Design and even had
her diploma in hand. This time, her mentor suggested she attend the gala, mentioning that alumni
would be there, many of whom were successful figures in the design world with considerable
renown. Attending the gala offered a chance to network within her field. Thalassa, now fully focused
on her career, accepted the professor’s invitation.
Starhaven College, the banquet hall. The buffet was lavish, with champagne glasses stacked into
small towers, filled with red wine for anyone’s taking. Men and women mingled with ease, their
movements and conversations reflecting a blend of elegance and composure. Wearing a simple
black evening dress, Thalassa approached Dr. Jamal to greet him: “Dr. Jamal.”
“Thalassa, come over here, I’d like you to meet two people,” Dr. Jamal led Thalassa towards a man
and a woman. The man wore glasses and had a clean, comforting appearance. The woman, in a
red evening dress, exuded a sexy yet understated beauty.
“Lance, Zoey, this is the talented student in jewelry design I’ve been telling you about. Meet
Thalassa,” Dr. Jamal introduced.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Thalassa. It’s a pleasure meeting you both,” Thalassa extended her hand to
Lance and Zoey.

“Hello. Dr. Jamal mentioned he had a particularly gifted student this year. Turns out it’s you. You’re
quite stunning,” the woman in the red dress complimented, her poise in every gesture and word
making her feel very at ease.
Flattered, Thalassa responded, “Thank you for the compliment. But I’ve still got a lot to learn
compared to you both.””Thalassa is not only talented but modest too,” Lance joked, his gaze shifting to Zoey.
“I haven’t yet had any commercial success, so I can’t consider myself truly skilled. It’s the designers
with best-selling pieces who have real talent,” Thalassa said.
“Commercial success isn’t just about the design; it’s also about the designer’s fame,” Zoey
mentioned, then had an idea, “Now that you’ve graduated, you should enter some design
competitions to build your name.”
“Exactly, entering competitions is the quickest way for a designer to gain recognition,” Lance
agreed.

“Lance, isn’t our company hosting the Star Creative Contest? You’re in charge of that, right? How’s
it going?” Zoey asked Lance. They worked at the same company but in different departments.
Lance replied, “We’re still in the preliminary rounds.”
“The entry hasn’t closed yet, right? Thalassa, you should enter the competition. Winning would
skyrocket your fame, making you more recognized than some who’ve been in the business for
years,” Zoey suggested Thalassa try her luck in the contest.
Thalassa, both surprised and excited, asked, “Really, can I really enter?”
“Of course,” Lance confirmed.
“I’m just worried I might not qualify due to my lack of experience,” Thalassa shared her concern.
“Lance, does what your girlfriend says count for anything?” Zoey playfully looked at Lance.
Lance immediately adopted the role of a dutiful boyfriend, nodding, “Absolutely.””Great, then Thalassa’s application is in your hands. Don’t be too strict with the requirements; her
talent is what matters,” Zoey rested her hand on Lance’s shoulder, their professional talk peppered
with obvious affection for each other.
