Chapter 1454″What did you just say?” Alaric glanced at Georgia in disbelief.
Indeed, Alaric had called the traffic cops to get the scoop on the accident, but he hadn’t gotten the
nitty-gritty, only that Hertha had rear-ended someone. Little did he expect that the other party
involved was Georgia!
Thalassa was equally shocked. “You mean, Hertha’s car crash happened because she collided with
you?”
When Thalassa had arrived, she was puzzled as to how a simple fender-bender could have left
Hertha so severely injured. But knowing that Georgia was the other driver, it all made sense.
“Exactly. She rear-ended my car and ended up seriously injuring herself. I called the ambulance
right away, but who knew she’d be driving like a bat out of hell and end up like this. The police have
already determined fault – it’s all on Hertha! My car’s been totaled because of her, and she needs to
compensate me for the entire vehicle! If it hadn’t been for the airbags in my car, I’d be the one in the
hospital with serious injuries.”

Georgia stood with her chin held high, her voice fierce and unapologetic, devoid of guilt or remorse.
If she hadn’t wasted time, Hertha might have gotten treatment sooner and wouldn’t be in such a bad
state. But Georgia didn’t show a shred of such sentiment.
“I’ll pay you the two million. Now get out,” Alaric’s normally playful eyes hardened with suppressed
anger. He spoke with certainty and determination to Georgia, pointing to the exit, signaling her to
scram.
“You’re paying for her?” Georgia flared up like a cat with its tail stepped on, glaring at Alaric. “What
are you to her, and what right do you have to pay for her? Alaric, everything you have now wasgranted to you by the Reed family. Your money is mine. Isn’t it ridiculous that you’re using my
money to pay me back?”
novelbinGeorgia was trembling with rage.
Alaric’s eyes gleamed with sarcasm as he suddenly chuckled. “Georgia, every business venture is
my own doing. What does the money I’ve made have to do with the Reed family? You’re not even
married to me yet, and you’re already eyeing all my assets. What, once we’re married, I become
nothing but your cash cow?”

Hearing her own schemes laid bare, Georgia’s haughty demeanor faltered, and she looked away,
stammering, “I didn’t mean it like that. I just meant, we’re going to get married eventually, and after
marriage, our assets would be shared.”
“Who says I’m marrying you? Go back to your family and clear this up!” Alaric grabbed Georgia by
the sleeve and dragged her away.
Her shouting was disturbing Hertha’s rest. He had told Georgia to leave, but she clung on,
continuing to make a scene that would only disturb Hertha further.
Alaric had stayed because there was no one else to look after Hertha, but now with Thalassa here,
he could drag Georgia away with a clear conscience.
Despite her protests, Georgia followed as Alaric pulled her along.
All her annoyance stemmed from Alaric being with Hertha. As long as Alaric left and wasn’t by
Hertha’s side, Georgia would feel a bit better. So, she was happy to leave with Alaric.
Alaric moved quickly, and it wasn’t long before he and Georgia were gone.
Thalassa took a deep breath, twisted the doorknob of the hospital room, and stepped inside.Upon seeing Hertha, her head wrapped in gauze, lying motionless on the bed, the sight pierced
Thalassa’s heart like a red-hot needle, bringing tears to her eyes.
Worriedly, she rushed to Hertha’s bedside. Seeing her in such a frail state, Thalassa’s breath caught
in her throat. This scene brought back memories- ones she had seen before with Lysander.
