My eyes widened at the choice of his words, and then I quickly looked around to see if anyone had heard us.
“Are you crazy? We are in the office,” I complained in a soft yet scared tone. Not scared because of his words, but because of anyone hearing us. I had worked hard for everything. If anybody suspected that I only got promoted to the top because I was sleeping with Samuel, I would be shattered.
“Fine, I will not say the f–word, but I am being honest with you. I don’t want to wait anymore,” he pouted, making me smile. But then I quickly bit the inside of my cheek to not give him the satisfaction of making me blush anymore.
“We will have to see. We haven’t even accepted each other yet,” I hit him playfully on the head with the light files in my hands and then walked away to Hunter’s office where I usually sit and work on projects.
“Hmm! That’s not an issue. I am always ready to accept you.” He kept talking even when I was moving ahead of him, trying to leave him behind so that he would stop talking for a while.
Once we were in the office, I locked the door to have a clear word with him. Watching me lock the door made him smirk a little, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at him.
“Samuel!” I said his name, and he pointed his finger at me, asking me to move closer. So I did. He had sat down on the chair where I sat and rolled it around to face me.
Once I approached him and was now facing him, I mumbled, “I need to see what my son thinks about this relationship.”

“Is she alright?” Jeffery asked Samuel instead of me. That was the hint right there that I needed to calm down.
“Yeah! She was just nervous the whole day about her presentation. I keep telling her that it went well,” Samuel was so good at lying that it concerned me..
“Oh! I heard them talk, they were beyond happy with the presentation, Jeffery quickly gave me a smile before placing the food in front of us.
“Since none of you came to the hall, I thought we would eat here,” Jeffery added, smiling with himself..
I grabbed my phone from my purse to check the notifications. I had put it on silent when giving the presentation. That’s when I saw the countless notifications from Polline either sending me text messages or calls,
My back straightened in my seat from the acknowledgment of something happening back in the house. Samuel must have seen the look of worry on my face because he quickly moved closer to check on me.
“Is everything fine?” he asked, concerned.

“Polline had been blowing up my phone,” I answered, checking her messages,
It shook the world from under my feet when I realized why she had been calling me for two hours straight.
